Holy Shit! I see the banner "Breaking News" on NBC but haven't seen any particulars. He is/was such a great actor! (Expletive deleted)

It's entirely possible that it might also been his 'weight' challenges,' too, I worry that they jump to the conclusion of drugs. James Gandolphini went with that problem as well. I'm just stunned.

VI. He was a truly wonderful actor. I always admired his work. And way too damn young too, for this to happen.

I just saw a photo from the Sundance Festival on Jan 19th, and you can see he was packing a lot more weight than he oughta.
VI: He was a character actor who truly made it big time. Which is not usually the case. Dustin Hoffman was an example of similar success.

Where are you hearing this syringe in arm, Bob? Of course this is just breaking news right now, but so far reports are very sketchy.
Sounds like it could have been that damn shit heroin cut with the Fantanyl which has been going around regularly knocking folks off with a high degree of regularity.
Ok. I see it now. CBS finally released particulars. Syringe in arm.

Sad for anyone to die this young.
He was an incredible actor with a wide variety of roles -- from a priest in "Doubt" to a CIA agent in "Charlie Wilson's War"

His finest hour will probably always be Capote for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

His next and last final hour will be "God's Pocket" which debuts at Sundance. He probably be his usual brilliance.
Btw. God's Pocket is an incredible book by Pete Dexter, a former newspaper reporter from Philadlphia. The title refers to a particular neighborhood in Philadelphia. A very raw nerved read with an extra dose of noir. I'd recommend the book. You know, if your taste cleaves in that direction. Haven't liked all of Dexter's efforts, but was stunned by that one. It was his exit from reportorial writing to becoming a novel writer. So keep your eye out for this one coming down the pike.

He was an incredible actor. He brought such life and genuineness to his roles.
Don't have a clue what kind of person he was.
This week an 81 year old man, a member of our church, the father of one of my friends, died in a surprise crisis from what what supposed to be routine hernia surgery. For Joe Morton Sr, I will mourn. He lead a good life.

Apparently there have been a lot of overdoses from heroin mixed with fantanyl, a powerful pain-killing drug. Mebbe related. Very sad.

Best US actor of his generation is, I think, not an unjustifiable opinion. I hover near that camp and struggle to think of one that I admire as much.

Character actors do brilliant work with no name recognition.
My deepest sympathies to his kids -- I understand he had three young children. It will be hard to grow up knowing how Daddy died.
