Today...
Yeah, it's today, today. Was beautiful out, and it's going to be like today, tomorrow, when it will be today again.
Made fried rice for dinner, mixed some avo, salmon, & capers on the side. Bath & trim day for the dachs, she looks fluffy.

Today is all we have. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow never really comes since, as soon as it does, it becomes today. Enjoy what you have and that means enjoy today, too.

Today is clear cold and breezy, which isn't my favorite weather but the storm tomorrow that was forecast is now supposed to go out South of us so no snow here. Hope they're right.
My acrylic nails fell off a few days ago and took the ends of the real nails with them. The real nails look pretty bad but playing with a pick doesn't work for me so I may go get new acrylics and hope they stick.
Have a good Saturday.

Good Morning Good People
Clear and chilly. Feels extra chilly because it has been a non-winter. Trying to caffeinate so as to spend a few hours at the office finishing half-finished stuff.
Have a sensational Saturday one and all.

Morning all. The wife is down at her sisters until this evening, they are with some other gals doing a stamping card crafting weekend. So it's just me and the dachshunds. Can you say bacon? Bacon is the word of the day.

It's snowing out here in Flatlandia. I think I enjoyed the "unseasonably warm stretch" more than this.

Judging by the snow and the freezing temperatures I think it must be the eleventh of January.

We are supposed to get 3 inches of snow Sunday night. This will be our first measurable snow since Dec 17 if it happens.

Bacon!! Had an ultimate mixed open mic last night. 7 out of 10 acts were horrible. But three out of ten were great. Had an excellent set with 3 friends. Liz, my regular partner sang 'Ready for the times to get Better', with my fake Chet version accompanying her, Our buddy Beth, with a lovely voice and pretty good fiddle sang 'Carved in Stone', the Subdudes song we learned listening to the Bluegrass Gospel Project. (Youtube here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F_xj1XeyuU ) My song was 'Washed My Hands in Muddy Water' picked thumb style with Beth's cool bluesy fiddle. And can't forget Larry on stand up bass. All went over quite well. Fun!

Recovering from my little Civil war road trip. We had to tear down and set up four times in two days so my back is sore.
My buddy Al's mandolin bridge broke late in the Friday night show. A guy in the audience said he had a mandolin but lived 25 miles away. We followed him home and borrowed it for the Saturday show. Worked out great but it was a late night.
Al's bridge was a Brekke. (http://www.bridgerproducts.com/brekke_bridges) I think if you have one you'd better order a spare.

Just back from "exercising the auto," plundering all the great twisties in Washington County's horsey country, about 75 miles' worth of back-road debauchery. OMG, the car is so much fun while at the same time somehow managing to be refined when you drive it sedately. Drop the transmission into Sport mode and you can upshift and downshift through all seven gears manually -- when you downshift, it even blips the throttle to match the revs to the new gear! I was driving the turns at twice the signs' recommended speed and the tires didn't even squeal once. I had forgotten about the glories of rear-wheel drive from a handling perspective.
Stereo is pretty great, too, and I discovered a full set of WeatherTech floor mats stowed in the trunk. Those mats are indestructible and a godsend in wintertime.

Recovering from my little Civil war road trip. We had to tear down and set up four times in two days so my back is sore. My attitude is whatever I get paid for a gig, half is for setting up, half for tearing down, and in between I have fun. I'm developing a similar attitude toward doctoring. I get paid for documenting, and enjoy ministering to the patient for the satisfaction.
