Back home from the CID farmers market Took the bike and had a great ride through the country side. Bought a jar of hanenaro jelly. Both the temp and the humidity are down a little today.

Great ending to a great day. Went to Dartmouth's Spaulding auditorium and saw chapter 3 of Ken Burns' Country Music. Kenny his own self was there to introduce and recap the film. 2 hours worth of the 40's and 50's country music. Through an awesome sound system, put all the great ones right in your lap.I was surprised there was only one artist in the film I wasn't real familiar with though I knew of her. Rose Maddox. Her show with her brothers was great honky tonk music with a highly energetic and fun vaudeville aspect to it. Hank Sr. was the backbone of the presentation, and his music carried the show. Can't wait for it to start airing on PBS come September. Ken Burns is so impressive. Affable and exquisitely coherent. A great historian. Such command of any of the topics he has filmed. Precise, lucid and highly accessible.

Deja Vu. It's more than just a great album.
I'm up, it's Sunday, the dog is fed and snoozing and I'm drinking coffee. Yesterday I broke out the Collings and played it. It's been a while as rthe Seagull is so accessible and easy, but, what a great guitar. It just sounds right. Stayed up till midnight just enjoy the sound. Pancho and Lefty. Lay Lady Lay. You ain't Going Nowhere. Brown Eyed Women in Red Grenadine, etc. what a great guitar. I feel lucky.

Good Morning Good People
Sunny and cool. A breezy Saturday evening cleared out excess humidity.
Off to church, where Sunday services start an hour early in June and July because our 1907 vintage building is not air conditioned.
Mizz Lola is off to her first trip to summer camp, three days and two nights at the YMCA camp where three generations of Dawn's family has attended and worked. She is attending with a beloved cousin. Dawn and I really wanted to take her there today, but her father and mother insisted because her father wanted to check the place out. (We are possessive grandparents)
Have a fine Sunday one and all.

Well I'll try again. When the temp and humidity started falling yesterday I headed for the lake. This morning at the cabin it is 66 degrees, the "feels like" temp on July 4th was 109. I overslept big time this morning, coffee is waiting, gotta go.

Good morning. I was waiting to see which daily won. Congratulations T-bob although I think you cheated a little.
It was 84 degrees at 7:00 this morning and we got some rain so the humidity was close to 100%. It was not comfortable enough on the back porch for coffee when the alternative was the nice air-conditioning inside. Still Summer I guess.
Acting as Pharaoh this morning I had to let the people go due to a plague of frogs, well toads actually, in the pool. There must have been a couple of dozen of them from 1" to 8" in size so maybe it was a family reunion. In any case I lost count while netting them out and over the fence. I hadn't ever seen that many at once since we've been here.
Pressure washed some of the concrete walkway on the shady side of the house yesterday but retirement hasn't made manual labor any more pleasant and my back isn't happy this morning.
Happy Sunday.

Quite the event yesterday. Congrats, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas & Christine Cloud.
Among her bridesmaids were 3 tenure-track professors. They boogied on the dance floor like regular folks.

Another gorgeous day, so the 3M Open will finish well -- a 20-year-old who swings like he's playing baseball is a co-leader, Matt Wolff. He was grouped yesterday with Tom Lehman, who is 60.
I have some errands to run, a little yard work to do, and then at 5 I'll join those gathered at the legendary Mancini's Char House in St. Paul for the release of Lonnie's "Through the Years" two-disc set.

How does one who resides on the left coast go about purchasing this?

Wish i could be in St Paul tonight. finally getting some spits of rain today. Finished cutting the alder into 15 foot lengths, next step is to buttress the fence to keep the tunneler inside. But I think today is a laundry day, rest and recovery.
Better days y'all

Last day of High Sierra Music Festival. Yesterday’s highlight was Del McCoury Band with David Grisman. Joe Craven has a tight ensemble of seasoned bad ass musicians. Tonight is Marcus King, at 22 years old he sings like Greg Allman and plays like Duane. Umphrey’s McGee last night was so loud I left after 30 minutes to insure my sonic survival.

Here's 30-minute rush. From snow to gravel/rock, thru a town, and then on down: I was surprised that it took a minute and a half before the first crash on the snow. I skipped through it, but our cameraman seems to have finished first and by the end of the video no one else had finished at all. Maybe everyone else flew off the mountain along the way. I believe that I will stick to the paved bike trails here in Plainfield.

Lonnie's cd release. How does one who resides on the left coast go about purchasing this? Mike I plan to gather all that info from Patti today and will start a thread about it tonight when I get home. It is just excellent, to no one's surprise.
