I'm sure it was very moving. Something about that headline reminds me of my one and only criminal defense of a woman accused of prostitution. It was around 1985. I was a baby attorney taking assignments of criminal cases. I do not remember the outcome of the case, just my interview of the in-custody client. The bailiff locked me in a room with her for the initial interview. I had never been in such a situation. Anyway, we were to discuss the facts of the case, and then enter a plea at 10:00 in a nearby courtroom. At 10:00 o'clock we were done with the interview. We had determined that we would enter a not guilty plea and request trial. So I got up, knocked on the door for the bailiff and got no response. I started to get nervous because the judge was going to call my case and I would not be there. I had never even had a case called for hearing! A couple minutes later I knocked again. No response. I was getting more nervous because that judge had told me to return by 10:00 and I was late. I started hammering on the door. My client, (who might have been though this before), calm and collected, and still seated in her interview chair, looked at me saying, "calm down Mr. Gray, it will be okay, it will be okay." The guard eventually opened the door and let me out to rush to the courtroom. I imagine that the bailiff, guard, and their buddies were watching me through the one-way glass and splitting a rib at the nervous baby attorney being calmed down by his client.

Once again I am slow. Don’t get it. The price of eggs has quadrupled in the last year.

I GET IT NOW!
Seriously, it took me quite a while. I didn't get the original reference.
