Did someone say bluegrassers?
Here's one of my favorite contemporary bluegrass bands.

The bluegrass band in which I played so many years ago included this in our repertoire, Coach. It's a good 'un, except I never fully embraced the story.

I can't tell if Stafford has a bad rug or bad hair. That’s his real hair. He’s always looked just like that.

I liked a old bluegrass group "The Greenbriar Boys" ... New Yorker I liked them too. They are probably the first bluegrass I ever heard. Growing up, our home was filled with music of all kinds… except hillbilly. My parents enjoyed square dancing so I’d hear Western swing style dance music, but it was mostly classical, opera, church choir, Stephen Foster, big band swing, and no hillbilly. The Great Folk Scare led me, circuitously, to the Greenbriar Boys and from there to Flatt & Scruggs and the Stanley Brothers. Bill Monroe came later. Several important people came through the Greenbriar Boys. Ralph Rinzler is probably the most notable but Eric Weissberg and Frank Wakefield we’re each members at one time.

In 1959, guitarist/vocalist John Herald formed The Greenbriar Boys
I saw that group many times in Greenwich Village Everybody was there - Ronk, Dylan, Eric Anderson, Ochs, Ste Marie and all the jazz and the bluesmen It would take me at least two hours to think about all those names - departed and barely alive.
I like music threads and I don’t have to think about the one________, that’s so huge -37 pages

Why would he want your toupee? Besides, you would look funny not wearing it.

For aficionados, musicologists, historians, and other interested parties. 1911 marked the hundredth anniversary of Bill Monroe’s birth. To honor Bill, the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), during their convention, held a series of morning panel discussions titled Bill Monroe for Breakfast. Well known bluegrass DJs posed questions for former Blue Grass Boys and let them talk about Bill and their experiences. If one has even a passing interest in the music and the experiences, this is both interesting and fun. I’ve linked the YouTube videos below in proper sequence. Each part is around 15 min. long. Enjoying this Flatt & Scruggs Grand Ole Opry show from waaaaay back when. You can order their brand new songbook for $1.00 plus a 4¢ stamp. I’m sending in my order right away. I just have to find an unused 4¢ stamp.
