Off to the Cities for a funeral. Not mine, fortunately (I'm planning on a very private composting). It was time, past time, and if they get it done in time, I will swing out a visit with Bill. Probably will in any event. I had a nice chat with Bill yesterday and informed him I might be stopping by. It will be fun to see that new place out in Apple Valley he told me he just moved to. Sounds like a really nice place... and it will shorten up his Ijam drive some.

I am a very positive Vikings fan. But, I really expect a reckoning and a waxing today at the hands of the Lions. The Vikings just don't have much talent on defense. Bereft is the word. As for the Lions, their "Roar" has been Restored.

Good morning. It's chilly out. A cold front will be coming through tonight with rain and colder temperatures.
Today I'll go somewhere in my Jeep for the first time in nine days. I bought a poinsettia from the Boy Scouts and have to pay and pick it up.

Awake on a cold damp Sunday morning and contemplating the nature of dualism.
Daughter and DIL both working 12-hour shifts. Dawn and Zack and I are tending a 4-year-old and toddler twins. One to one ratio is almost fair. Yesterday one of the twins decided she wanted to scrawl with markers on every surface other than the paper she was directed toward. She took great offense when I prevented her from doing so.

Paul, I'm on Eastern Standard Time. There it is.
In other news, it seems to be gray and dreary all over the country, from the West to the East. Weather reports indicate storms on the West coast, and my girls are supposed be flying in from San Francisco tonight. New York might even see a tiny bit of snow. The Jewish mother in me is concerned.

Breakfast and shopping. A little slee shopping due to a Trader Joe's trip yesterday, one always finds must have items there. Then shop time before naptime.

Not a water slide. I think it's the then-unfinished entrance ramp from the Jackie Robinson Parkway to the Van Wyck Expressway. Currently, the ramp is fully connected, making it much easier to visit the cemetery in which most of my family is interred.
Gettin' crowded.

Got up early because we are having choir rehearsal before the service today. I think our director has taken on too many jobs. This is the second of three weeks in a row when he couldn't do our usual Thursday evening rehearsal. It was 41F just before dawn and looking for low 70s. However, on Tuesday and Wednesday nights we are supposed to have below freezing temps. With that in mind, I made pesto with some fresh basil last night. This afternoon I'll harvest some more basil and freeze batches of pesto with everything but the Parmesan.
With all that other people have going on, I hesitate to say that we have a busy week ahead of us. But we're old and retired, which is a different perspective. Need to put up and decorate the tree and get Christmas cards and letters sent. Tomorrow is a holiday lunch with my retirees club. Tuesday I take Mr. H for an eye injection. Wednesday I go to the ophthalmologist to get measured for lenses for cataract surgery. First one is scheduled for late February. Second will probably be in March. Thursday we host a lunch at a restaurant for our social club. Friday is probably Costco.
