Good morning. It's another Friday. Her Grace will be facing the AP US History exam this morning. She has studied hard for the last few days, some of it with my help and digital flash cards. Just served her a high-protein breakfast, and she says she's feeling pretty good.
Rainy and cool here today. I just may go back to bed for a while.
Wishing one and all a peaceful day.

Good morning. Looks like another warm day here in Florida, so what else is new? Not much on the agenda today, life is good. Have a great day.

Good morning.
42F-72F sunny.
After getting my bandsaw running sharp and quiet I decided the belt/disk sander could use some attention so that will be my first chore this morning. I already have the abrasives on hand so no pilgrimage to Harbor Freight needed. but this is a dirty job as sanding dust is packed in every place possible so I'll break out one of the shop vacs, wear a mask and push on. All my other large power tools are fine so I'll be able to get on with making bridges for four guitars. One of them will be a classical guitar bridge which I've never done before. Those are pretty much standard sized so one can just buy it. Now I want to make one just because I've never had to do it. It will be rosewood as they should be, never ebony, but mine will be a 12 hole because they are easier to string and can sound better when a low saddle is involved.

Egrets and a large crane are scanning the pond for breakfast. I am scanning the kitchen for breakfast. Coffee is ready.

Morning.
2nd lawnmowing of the year on tap today. Or tomorrow. If I weren't concerned about the flowers, I would just get a goat and be done with it.

Morning. Cold but sunny this am in Idaho. I had to fire up the propane furnace to take the chill off the coach this morning. Nita is signed up for backing class this morning, so while she learns how to park a trailer, I’ll fill up an empty propane bottle, then head over to Orvis and look at their hiking poles and hopefully find a new Panama hat. It will warm to the middle or upper 70s today.

Sunny and coolish.
Laundry and other household chores this morning, bike ride later if it's not too windy. I plan to pump up the tires on my vintage road bike and take it to a freshly-paved stretch of rail trail.

Sander is clean and a new belt and disk installed. I will sand a scrap piece of ebony just to take the edge off the belt so it doesn't leave such big sanding marks. Now on with some bridge making.

Why I get hungry on the job, reading stuff like this:
In the land of truffles and porcini, morels aren’t a traditional Italian ingredient. But they are in Seddon’s hands. She sautés them lightly in olive oil with salt and black pepper, then gives them a luxurious bath in a dreamy sauce made from cream, mushroom stock, vermouth and dry Marsala. Served with a spritz of lemon on griddled toast, these morels ($18) were just one of the highlights of a meal that kept wowing with seasonal wonder. A deep-green spring onion sformata, which is like a savory flan that tastes deeply of spring. A ball of mozzarella almost as runny as burrata, on crisp leafy lettuce. Pillows of gnocchi in a creamy lemon sauce with peas and asparagus. And chocolate nemesis, a rich dessert that looks like a cake but acts like a mousse.

Thought for the day: If one has not walked for 8 weeks, starting to walk again is pretty damned difficult. Nobody said it would be easy, though, so onward and upwards.

You have lots of little screws, metal pieces - the ankle, leg - YIKES I hasn't walked for 8 weeks - hosp and rehab and recovery I'm trying to walk better - I've only had 10 or 20 steps and I had to stop/pauses I had a heavy antibody - Bactrim (side-effects) jittery (aka Parkinson' disease) and urination... We get the "diseases" when we're old

I'm headed up to Old Southern BBQ for a light lunch: Brisket burger, tangy slaw, muffin top.

Does someone else order the bottom of the muffin to avoid wasting food?

Does someone else order the bottom of the muffin to avoid wasting food? Everyone knows the tops are the best part of cornbread muffins, so Old Southern bakes only those. Genius!

Taking a day off today. I changed the strings on my old Gibson lap steel earlier this week; while I was at it the taped-on note guides on the fretboard started to come off. I removed them all, and the tape residue on the fretboard cleaned right up. The residue came off the sides of the neck as well, but there is some finish damage. Cosmetic only; because it's on the treble side you don't see it when playing, and of course you don't really touch the neck, so it's really not noticeable (as opposed to cosmetic damage on an "armpit" guitar). It's a seriously cool guitar, and it sounds pretty good as well. The electronics could probably use a little work - the pots are a little scratchy, and perhaps a new capacitor would help. But I might leave that to the next owner, whenever that may be.
