Good morning. Ready to make breakfast. Her Grace has a State Regents exam in English to take this morning. I just heard her alarm go off; hoping she wakes without prodding from Dad.
Strong storms expected here this evening. I was planning to attend a friend's art show opening, but if it's really bad out I think I'll stay home and hunker down. Not seeing anything coming in from the west on radar right now, but there might be something big moving up from the south off the North Carolina coast right now. Hmm.
Have a great day, people.
On edit: she made it up on time, got a breakfast sandwich in her, out the door on time, and the exam begins in two minutes. 🤞🏻

Good morning. I'm up and getting ready for a trip to the urologist to get my balky prostate checked out. Hopefully it's just an enlarged prostate controllable by medication and not a return of the cancer. We'll see. After that it's a day of rest getting ready for tomorrow's 30+ mile bike ride with the Swamp Mountain Bike Club folks. Have a great day folks.

We had a brief but intense storm hit yesterday afternoon. It dumped a lot of rain quickly and then moved on. Today should be a nicer day before we head back to the mid 90s for a week. Coffee time. BTW, I asked the doc yesterday how long it would be before all swelling was gone and things were back to normal. He said 8-9 months.

Hopefully, after that much time and the positive effects of the surgery, it will be better than normal.

Might your issues be related to your recent increase in cycling miles? You have probably already considered it, but an investigation of some better bike saddles might be in order.

Picked me a mess of mulberries yesterday. Cleaned them and cut the stems off and gave some to a skeptical friend. I'm eating my cereal with mulberries this morning.

barely got wordle (6). I'm going to go out and cut the top half off of every blade of grass in my back yard. I know that sounds like a daunting task, but I have power tools. I'm not worried.
I had a song in my head throughout my morning walk/run with IceSha. I'm pretty sure it was Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. A gospel song that starts out "All your life you've been a sinner..." and then there's a repeated phrase that is also the title of the song "You're ______ ____". I couldn't remember what the words were to save my life. But typing that much out to explain my dilemma to you guys helped me solve it. It wasn't Doyle Lawson.

Yesterday I was shopping in our Meijer store -- picking up a few groceries -- when I saw a guy wearing a Superman shirt. He wasn't wearing a cape. It left me skeptical.

I use nail clippers. but it's a long messy operation; one at a time. Did you anesthetize them before you performed the operation, or did you just let them suffer?

Good morning.
58F-81F sunny.
DaWife's last working day. She had a hard time sleeping last night so by the time I get her home tonight she will be rather tired. Tomorrow she wants to head North but will have to wait for brother Bill to let her know the condition of the lake cabin. It's a little over a 3 hour drive so she really doesn't need to leave until late afternoon. I have shop work to finish up today but will do a short errand to finalize details for tonight's party.
I promised her breakfast burritos so I guess I better make good on that.

Sunny and pleasant. Thunderstorms did not materialize yesterday. North wind, less muggy.
I think I will motivate myself for a morning bike ride. There is a section of the White Pine Trail north of here that is freshly paved. I will take my vintage road bike with very skinny high pressure tires. Great fun on smooth pavement, rattles one's fillings with the slightest bump. Driving an hour north of town gives the feeling of being Up North.

Our neighborhood is having an Irrigation Crisis.
For historical reasons, many of the older parts of Phoenix are irrigated by water from the Salt River, which flows through town. A utility company called the Salt River Project pipes the water to distribution points. Distribution of the water to individual properties is handled by the neighbors themselves. We're collectively responsible for maintaining the local system.
Recently, everyone in our neighborhood got a letter from SRP saying it would make no more deliveries of water until certain problems in the neighborhood system were fixed, including a problem with irrigation gates in the northeast corner of our property. There are no irrigation gates in our northeast corner. That hasn't stopped many neighbors from appearing at our door and asking what we're going to do about the problem. Two more rang the doorbell while I was making breakfast. SRP has agreed to send someone out to look at our northeast corner and satisfy themselves that there are no gates there, problematic or otherwise.
Irrigation crises get everyone's attention. All the trees and shrubs have to be irrigated or they'll die, so the threat of having the water cut off isn't trivial. We've muddled through several crises in the past and this one will probably get resolved as well.

Sunny and 69 degrees. Should hit 80 this afternoon with a dewpoint of around 50. Great start to summer. Every night is cool. Days are sunny. And fresh air with no humidity. When North Dakota is good, it's very good.
