…A variety of other issues, including my health, have diminished my playing ability since. Oh NO! If it’s not too personal, what health issues have you been dealing with? Are you OK?

I'm an older model with some hard mileage and my parts are wearing out. I could bore you, to tears, with all the things that are going 'down hill.' Forgive me, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. I'm grateful to be here, although the alternative is not bad either. Seems like I've been on borrowed time for at least 12 years. You may remember/know that I had a heart attack in 2012. When I went in for bypass surgery, the surgeon noticed something unusual about my lymphnodes. That lead to treatment for non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In 2021 it was determined that I have Parkinson's Disease. Both have been attributed to the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune. The worst part of dealing with this is accepting the fact that I can't do some of the things I enjoy most. Overall, I'm OK!

Bill, it's good to see you here. I'm sorry to hear of the health problems but you sound like you're dealing with them well. Thanks, Don! Before you credit me 'dealing well,' it should be noted that this is what many people deal with daily and I'm sure there are many who are worse than me. Dealing with it isn't always voluntary. Still, I'm blessed to have been on the planet for three quarters of a century, grateful for what time I may have, and looking forward to what's next.

Bill, you made quite an impression on me when we met at whatever IJam we met at. I walked into the (I believe) Modern Motel lobby, a bit worn after the long drive with guitar in hand. The lobby was empty, except for one fellow, who came up to me with a smile and with warmest southern voice said "Hello, I'm Bill, Chili Bill on the forum. good to meet you". And you shook my hand and we chatted a bit. Then you said, "would you like some hot sauce, I brought some of mine". And you gave me a bottle of your homemade hot sauce, it even had a label that said "Chili Bill's".
You gave me the warmest greeting (and not just because of the hot sauce) and I still remember it. Later, when you played on the stage, you started out rambling about how you weren't very good and just liked to pick a bit at home, then you played some of smoothest country blues. Knocked my socks off. You were so comfortable with that guitar and so good, as good as it gets. And whatever tune it was you played, it sounded like it was a part of you it was so yours.
I meant to keep your hot sauce as a souvenir. But, then, one morning, I realized that wasn't what it was meant for, so I popped it open and splashed my omelet. Pretty darn good hot sauce, Bill! Thanks!
