And he’s a native Nebraskan to boot. Went to Chadron State Teachers College not too far from my hometown.
I totally forgot he was in Washington as long as he was.
Pat and I were both hoping for Mark Kelly but it is what it is and I am sure he will hold his own.

Huh. I thought Kelly contrasted with her very well and was still sort of youthful and new as well. I would assume Minnesota is going blue anyway?

I also like Kelly. I read somewhere that if he'd been the pick, Arizona would have had to hold a special election in two years to fill his senate seat. A lot of Democrats didn't want to risk a Senate seat in order to make Kelly the pick.

A friend of Melva's said his son was inspired to become a teacher after after being in one of Walz's classes in high school. He said his excitement about his subject was infectious.
