And what show might that be Mr Smartypants. Under the Vines. It’s about an unlikely couple, a man from London and a woman from Melbourne, that inherit a vineyard in New Zealand and hilarity ensues as the try to learn the wine business in what appears to be the most beautiful spot on earth. Hilarity is too strong a word but it’s a cute show. We liked that one too. There seem to be a lot of shows from New Zealand that we enjoy. We liked - The Brokenwood Mysteries
- My Life Is Murder
- The Indian Doctor
- Harry Wild
- Agatha Raisin
Some of these are exceptional and all seem well done.

Watched the final episode a couple of nights ago and truly enjoyed it. There is also talk of a potential Season 2. I'm in.
By the way, the actress who plays the part of Gabrielle is Chiara Mastroianni, whose father was Marcello. Her features are unmistakable.

I have spoiled nothing except perhaps my own life. Didn't give away any plot line, didn't mention who Gabrielle is, what her connection is to Sam Spade, so please just stand up and adjust your laundry. 😁

Wait - they're connected?!? I just assumed she was some random character until now. Great.

Yes, at the neck and the knees.

Her features are unmistakable. . . . , she was topless in one scene. Did I spoil anything for ya?

OK, we’re in. We watched The Maltese Falcon, read the Wiki intro, and just finished episode one of Monsieur Spade.

One of the most challenging things seems to be writing a compelling conclusion to a complex multi-faceted plot. John LeCarre was good at it. My personal feeling relative to Monsieur Spade was one of disappointment. Still a worthwhile watch. It prompted me to want to learn more about the Algerian conflict.

John LeCarre was good at it. Did you watch The Night Manager? Now THAT was an excellent series.
