Good morning. August is on the way out. September won't be noticeably cooler until mid-month at the earliest. That's when mornings and evenings usually start cooling down.
I'm dealing with a couple of headaches with the government that feel like they'll never end. They consumed yesterday and one of them will consume today.
Enjoy your day.

On my way to Nashville today. For those of you in Indiana, I am headed to the big Nashville, not the one near me. I doubt I will be able to sneak away for any guitar time, although I would like to visit Carter's new store - which is at least twice as big as the old one, and conveniently just across the street.

So far a good cup of coffee is the highlight of my day. Maybe I will have two.

Beautiful, beautiful morning on the shores of Bass Lake, Wisconsin. Coffee, is going down fast.
We'll be spending the day at the Rock River Thresheree, breathing coal smoke. I'm alway searching for a 1928 Case, model T, 25-45, like the one my grandpa had, haven't found one yet.
No steam powered guitars, but there is a steam powered calliope there, just slightly less annoying than a bango.

They are so good that they have had 5 drummers implode and are now on #6! Bets are being taken on how long he has left.

At Carter's you'll see some antique display cases, book bins and a few large square padded seats in the back room. Those all came from the Podium.

Good morning.
60F-84F sunny.
I will do Saturday shop this morning as I have two easy repairs to perform.
Yesterday's INR was a bit high due to a week of debauchery in Key West.
Don't know if we'll do anything today, acting like we're retired sounds good.

Marty What is the concern with Eliquis and you. It is much more reliable on the INR. No need for frequent testing. If I needed anticoagulants, I’d insist.

It’s Saturday and I’m doing good because I’m retired and I actually know what day of the week it is, which is not always the case. We have our grand dog visiting this weekend as the kids are up in WA at a friends wedding or something. Sweet little dog in spite of having a bunch of chihuahua genes in her. So I’m enjoying that. Going to be hot here again, 98 today. And that’s the news that fits.

Shabbat Shalom!
Her Grace and I have just enjoyed our morning coffee; breakfast is on hold because we're not feeling particularly hungry. She is watching the F1 qualifying right now and my wife is out in the park with Bianca the Spitz.
Today's agenda:
1) While searching for a tiny, wonderful bookmark I swear I left on my night table yesterday, the flashlight revealed mounds of dust and dust bunnies around the bottoms of the guitar cases as well as under the bed and behind the night table. I'll be deconstructing the furniture arrangement and applying the vacuum cleaner in those areas.
2) While searching through our storage space in the basement of the building yesterday, I found several more of my father's photos, framed. I'll need to make some cell phone shots of these and add them to the inventory for auction. Anyone interested in purchasing a beautifully framed, personally autographed portrait of Maurice Chevalier or David Ben-Gurion?
3) I may have mentioned that one of my Instagram pals in Australia recently published a memoir, focused on her struggle with cystic fibrosis and a double lung transplant 26 years ago. A copy of the book showed up in the post yesterday, and I am excited to start reading it. The book is called "Breath." The author is Carly-Jay Metcalfe. She is courageous and has a wicked sense of humor.
4) Looking forward to guitar time, too. I spent some with my 24-year-old Huss and Dalton OM last night. It may need a string change today—I have it strung with D'Addario XS .013s, and the last string change was about five months ago. It is having some trouble staying in tune now. Stretched out? Time for a fresh set?
Wishing all a great day. Onward and upward in the never-ending battle against entropy...

Trouble staying in tune? That’s what those knobs on the headstock are for.

Doc! I appreciate the tip. I'll try those. 😄

A pleasant late summer day. Just returned from a neighborhood pancake breakfast. Thirty-two years in this house, the second generation of kids on the block is growing up fast.
Today is International Play Music on the Porch Day. Comport yourselves accordingly. Granddaughters are arriving shortly, so it will be Play Music on the Porch Evening.

We have no porch. We have a patio. I will not be out there playing music. The expected high is 101 and it's already pretty warm. I'll be having whole wheat waffles. They are being made as I mess around on line. There is applesauce and homemade yogurt to serve on them. Plus some fig jam and the usual syrup.
I was not planning to go grocery shopping today, but Mr. H wants hamburgers on Labor Day and we are bunless. While at Fry's we will stop by the pharmacy and see if they have the new COVID vaccine.
I picked up a "new" song book at this week's choir rehearsal. Mostly 60s stuff. Our pianist had cleaned out her collection and brought sheet music and books to give away to anyone who wanted them. I've been running through some of the songs. There are many from before my time that I don't even recognize.

There are many from before my time that I don't even recognize. It's becoming difficult to encounter things that are before my time.

Sunny and breezy. Hi of 78, low of 48. It's a perfect September day in August.
Hope to have some news later.
