We do know he didn't have to go to Afghanistan to get his AR-15 and enough ammo take out a town square. He got everything he needed right here at Jimbo's "Guns to Go". No fuss, no muss.

Background checks and proof of gun safety knowledge, like getting a drivers license, and quantity restrictions would allow "good" people to have their perceived protections and better restrict "bad" guys from arming a militia. |

Unfortunately, the Second Amendment doesn't speak to what citizens are restricted from doing. Rather, it's directly intended to limit what government can do. Which specifically is government cannot limit gun ownership. Don't like it? There's a process available to amend the Constitution. Give it a shot. Otherwise, learn to live with it. |
