Maybe they looked at some of the 50th reunions and decided to party while they could do so without walkers. And have something to talk about other than their meds.
(A couple weeks ago I attended a conference I've been going to for twenty-some years, with some people I've known even longer. Too many of the catch-up conversations began with explanations of the cane/crutches and continued on to reports of hospital visits, bad medication interactions, and so on. And many of these people are younger than I am.)

I agree, but I am betting that '65, '66 and '67 would be fabulous contenders for the Overall Best title I think the year that contained "Open Letter to my Teenage Son" must immediately be disqualified.

Wow, I like Rob's year for songs a lot better than mine! When Lar and went looking for songs to do for MrR's 1967 reunion gig, we decided that "class" had listened to music before graduation and certainly afterward so we expanded the years in which we searched for songs we'd actually enjoy doing (and would fit our sound). The list wasn't very long! LOL I wasn't too keen on Daydream Believer (Monkees) until Lar introduced me to the version by its author John Stewart. Now I love the song!

I went to my 10th and 20th reunions. I'll skip the rest. One thing I noted about the tenth (when we were all in our late 20's, was the sad fact that ALL of the guys looked worse and ALL of the girls loked fantastic. More than once I heard someone mutter under their breath, as they eyes some wall flower turned beauty, "Holy crud, I could have dated HER?"

I quit high school when I was 16, so I've never been to one of my own reunions. But I've played at a lot of other people's. What's striking, for me, about some of these lists is how many of these songs I've played in bars over the years. There are plenty of lousy songs on all these lists, but some real gems, too.

I as hoping 1969 would fall to someone else. It's surprising how bad the list really is from 1969, but here it is: This is a list of Billboard magazine's Top Hot 100 songs of 1969 (I think there is something wrong with Billboard or Wiki ) 9 "Build Me Up Buttercup" The Foundations Ah, "Build Me Up Buttercup," the music of our lives!

Including that one, if you can believe it. It always went over surprisingly well.

I was '72 along with Dradtke. I nominate '76 as the worst posted so far. Worse than 1981? Are you feeling OK, Evan?

With all my house distractions, I missed this one until just now. Great topic, Bill.....this was a good one for sure.
I'm also class of '69, so thank you Dennis for saving me the work. ;D

"I'm Archie Bell, and these are the Drells, and we can dance... just as good as we walk!" and this is the music we tighten up with... Love it! Thanks, man.

Todd, I agree that '81 looks the worst so far, although I found some I like even on that list.

The video for Taco, 'Puttin on the Ritz,' is pretty nifty.

Even though the thread is old--
I also like Rob's list--it reflects much of what was on the car radio and on the jukebox at Wanda's, the bar down the hill from the Le Moyne campus, my senior year. And five of the first 25 are currently on my partner's playlist for our deli/coffeehouse gigs. Nothing from '62, though.

You've got to do "Honey" ! ! ! ! ! WTF possessed you to reply to a thread from two years ago? ? Somehow it popped up in the list. Somebody must have said something or liked something. I didn't realize it was that old. You should still do "Honey"
