I like Rob's list. I also graduated in '65. I'm a bit surprised that all of those songs made it all the way to Nebraska. Although I'm not certain that all of them actually got there in '65. The "local" radio station in Grand Island (20 miles away) played country and polkas and gave up one hour a night to rock & roll. So we listened to a 50,000 watt station out of Oklahoma City to try to keep current. It worked pretty well as long as the atmospheric conditions were right.
This being the 50th anniversary of my high school graduation I'm traveling to Nebraska next month to attend my first Alumni Banquet. My school was so small we don't have a reunion for the individual classes.
Much to my surprise the organizing committee has hired Deep Blue to play for the event. I'm looking forward to it.

Well, being a young pup here, my year was 1981 and I can't imagine doing any of these songs. Except for Devo's "Whip It", of course.

I started listening to top 40 in '65 and lived on only that until 1971 brought the revelation that was WNEW in New York. I still love those songs ... yes, even the pansy ass ones.

But, Bill, did you play at the reunion? How did it go?

But, Bill, did you play at the reunion? How did it go? And that is indeed what came to pass.

Todd, I agree that '81 looks the worst so far, although I found some I like even on that list. OK, something is wrong with this thread. Shannon answered this question beforeI had posted my song list.

I was a sophomore in medical school then and newly married. I was starting my 10 year black hole. I came out the other side thinking Tom Dooley was still on the charts.

Welcome to the old farts club. Playing at our class reunion is now expected of me, since I've played at the last four, at five year intervals. So here are the samples from 1966.

OK, I get that now. But what the heck is a thread from 2013 doing up here? Blame Marshall, aka Time Traveler.
