And in the other tournament, I just watched Iowa's own Caitlin Clark fire in one long range swish after another. 27' out, 28' out, 30' out... nine of them, swish, swish, swish, all while guarded. And her passes are incredible. If she were playing with a more athletic team she would have had 30 assists, several of the full-court pass variety. Caitlin is also a joy to watch. I think she and DJ Burns should get married. What a batch of ballplayers they would produce! Clark will be drafted number one by our Indiana Fever WNBA team unless she takes an offer of $5M from Ice Cube to play in the Big3. I think/hope she will opt for the WNBA.

#22 is something else. I’ve never watched basketball before but the Iowa girls have me glued to the games, Martin and Marshall aren’t too shabby either.

Tonight. On ESPN (and all who carry it)
The Final Four of the Women's NCAA begins with LSU vs NC State. 7 pm Eastern.
Then it is UConn vs Iowa. 9 Eastern.
Wow! NC State and UConn sent both their Mens and Womens teams to the Final Four!

NC State has momentum and I wouldn't be betting against them.

I've got $50 on NC State.
Of course, it's with Casper, so even if I lose, it stays in the family.

I thought UConn was Yukon-a bunch of crazy, Alaskan basketball hermit survivalists. Turns out they are from Connecticut. Learn something every day, eh?

I really wish the ref hadn't called that chintzy offensive foul at the end. Took an exciting game out of the players' hands and just gave it to Iowa.
Clark was really impressive, again, in a different way. She didn't have her shot (wasn't allowed her shot) and was taken completely out of her game... then in the second half, she changed her game. No more long range bombs, she drove the lane and created either baskets or assists by playing a hard physical game. She looks scrawny at first sight, but she actually has a pretty rangy frame (and sharp elbows). She'll do fine in the more physical WNBA.
(Paige Bueckers, on the other hand, made a wise decision to play one more year of college ball, she needs to muscle up a bit.)
((Casper has a huge crush on Hannah Stuelke))

That was pretty ticky-tacky for that point in the game. UConn down by 1 with about 20 seconds left and the ball. Not much of a foul. Took the ball away from them. Their coach was LIVID ! So would I be in his shoes. Edit: it was 4 seconds left. Time for one shot to win or lose it all.

Crap!
Me too. I signed up for one month of FUBO to get ESPN thinking I could watch both Final Fours plus however long the Timberwolves last into the NBA playoffs.
I got the Women's Final Four, but the Men's is on TBS and FUBO doesn't have TBS. Rats!
So I tried get a six-day free trial on Sling, and then cancel... only to discover that they remembered that I did that last year and free trial disappeared before my eyes. Tried another email address. Nno go, they wanted nothing to do with me. $75 up front in full no refund.
I Hate This World.

Guess I'll read a book or talk to my wife about something or other. Sigh...
Oh, bright side, Fubu or whatever it is will give me the Timberwolves tonight and Iowa/South Carolina tomorrow. And the NBA playoffs before I have to cancel it.

held NC to 50 points. It wasn't pretty, but Purdue got the job done. I'm glad to have overestimated the power of momentum.

No idle hand slap, DJ Burns and Zach Edey gave each other a warm hug and clap on the back in the end of game handshake line. That was cool.
In the post game interview, Edey made a point to mention the respect he and his team had for the Wolfpack and Burns. Then interviewer said, "I saw you and DJ giggling out there, what was that about?"
Edey smiled and said "I'd better not say, but he's a good guy!"
I'm warming to Edey. He is more than just a really big tall guy. Tough to pull for the biggest and most dominant guy on the court, but I'm pulling for him now. Beat UConn!
