Grrrrr Yeah - it's Saturday and I am working. Lots to do before I begin the long goodbye of part-time status. I thought I would be an elder statesman, but instead I'm an old plow horse being managed by perky millennials as they push me out to pasture. Tell them you're not going to do part time, when you're done you're done. See if that makes their rectum spasm. I mean, yeah. If you’re not having fun, you don’t need the money, and they’re pissing you off... give them a date, and say, I’m done as of.

When was the last time it did anything like this?

I wanted a late 60s vet so bad. I can say with some surety that I will never get one now. Or any other vette.

We generally don’t have problems like that here, because it rains so much, the water has places to go, And there’s not a lot of flat land in Vancouver. Where we have problems with sudden melt and rain is when the rivers overlow. BC being all mountains, it can all come down too quickly. We moved off the flood plain we were on 13 years ago. The dikes run for miles, but are only high enough for a ‘200 year flood’. So every 200 years or so, we’ll get a flood too high for the dikes to contain.
And just like the Texas power grid, everyone will ignore that thought until the worst happens, and will then stand around and point fingers at each other.

While I appreciate the intent, the concept seems psychotic. I dunno, sleeping outside when it’s 20 below sounds, umm, unpleasant?

Well, when just eating a nice piece of tenderloin, something done with mango is pretty fine. Sweet and sour kinds of things work well. I don’t know why those wouldn’t work in sandwiches. Mustard and pickels? So common.

A great series. The BBC does these things really well. if you like that, Shetland is also brilliant.

Man, who influence on me and my musical friends. Return to Forever was an amazing group. No Mystery, Romantic Warrior, sheer brilliance. Listening to his album Solo, that he released last year, just him and a piano, live. Amazing.

It’s actually gone below freezing here! It’s going to snow! 😎
Which is damned cold for Vancouver. The wind has been howling for a couple of days as well. Nice today, just cold. Our winters are bad enough, being grey and wet. I couldnn’t do eastern winters.

....to destroy those files so that they can divert the funds into their own domiciliary account abroad without the knowledge of the federation... Because if the federation finds out, they’ll send Starfleet after you.....

Kayak. Much easier to handle, better in more different kinds of water, way more maneuverable. Have a few friends with them. The river sized ones you can haul around yourself. You can also get roof racks that tip and bring it to you.

We’re pretty much worth about a million now, between home, retirement savings, pension, etc. Being a millionaire ain’t what it used to be.

It’s easy if you start with two million. Or, to make a small fortune, start with a large one and try to make a living as a touring musician.

Well, if no one thought Brady was the GOAT, um, what about now? I dunno what the hell he’s going to do when he finally retires. Though it kind of looks like he might have a few more years left in him at this rate....

I'm just trying to erect enough barriers to keep the geese outta my yard. Put up a side fence and though I was safe. Nope Canada geese? They’re awful. They’re all over the parks around here, and goose crap is everywhere. It’s unfortunate they don’t taste very good, or the problem could be solved.

We had to get some work done last summer because of a leaking dishwasher. Every single guy that came through, general contractors, flooring, plumbing, cabinets, said they were crazy busy. Everyone’s at home, everyone decided that since they were, they might as well get stuff done. Hopefully they have enough to keep going after they’ve spent 10s of 1000s on renos.

I finally listened to one this year. The major problem I have is how long it takes to get through them. I’d like to try one where they have a full ensemble cast; the one I read was one guy, and it was okay, but I gather the direction is to have more of a production, where they have different voices for all the characters. Lord of the Rings is apparently quite spectacular.
But reading for me is reading. I like to sit with a book/kindle/ipad.

How come that old guy ain't playing a Martin. Damned un-American of him. Even stodgy old Americans progress. At least, some do.

I was on oxygen just at night for a year or so, but was recently bumped up to 24/7. My life is totally “tubular” now. 42 years of stupidity with cigarettes and however many years of smoking everything else under the sun. The sins of our youth, and middle age, and ongoing.
