And yet it still doesn't justify cowardly recruiting kids into this twisted multi-gender morass behind their parent's backs. Particularly if it involves either surgeries or puberty blocking drugs. What Is A Woman?

No surprise to me. I can't remember the last news thing I subscribed to. Had to be 30+ years ago.
The basis of that is just that there isn't that much in the world that I need to know. Most important stuff for daily life comes through Facebook- local events, local police reports, local traffic, etc. Everything important to my career comes from working. The kid's keep in touch through FB or they call if it's really important. The 2 comics I follow are posted daily on thier sites. Etc.
That's been the way I've dealt with it my entire life but the importance of it was really highlighted working in DC. Politics is an all consuming game there and I felt the effects profoundly after about 2 years. Just simply hyped up on too much information about shit that was either irrelevant to me or just never seemed to come true in the end. Helped a lot to realize it's all an over-hyped game. The kids were happy as was the wife and life was good if I just stay focused on that. And the destruction of my life was unknowable in advance so losing sleep wouldn't have helped.
Politics is still a hobby like guitar playing, but nothing to lose sleep over. And paying for news just continues to make no sense whatsoever.

Children sexualize themselves, apparently from a fairly early age. The challenge for adults (and not just parents) is to figure out where and how to establish the range of sexual behaviors. This is just a subset of the general challenge of socializing young primates. If they sexualize themselves, there's no real need for these 3rd party interlopers, is there?

When the hell did this become about ignorantly slandering Christianity anyways? It's expressly about parent's rights to their children. The standard atheist bullshit is just a ruse. Nobody else has argued from the viewpoint of God. Not one. But apparently when the stupid people run out of legitimate reasons to overrule parent's fundamental rights to raise their kids, it's because of Christianity which must be mocked if you have no idea what the hell that's even about. I keep trying not to engage, but this is a classic example of running up one abstraction ladder and coming down another. Are parents' "rights" absolute and inviolable? Do children have any rights--for example, the right not to be bullied or abused or neglected? Or to watch one or both of their parents abuse the other? There are clearly situations that call for some entity to intervene when parents abuse their obligations toward their children. In some social environments that might mean other family members or even unrelated community members or a church, but in a large, heterogeneous, mobile society, it will fall to the state (that is, civil authorities) to stand between children and abusive or incompetent parenting. Children are not property to which anyone has "rights" that are like those of ownership--they are wards, and parents are custodians. Long ago, my ethics prof put it this way: a "right" is a relationship. And relationships are not one-sided. Of course they do, that's why Child Protective Services exist. Duh. But outside of criminal behavior, parent's are by definition the primary caregivers, not the state, the schools, or any online bunch of loons encouraging child sexualization. Which most folks who have raised children understand.

Some people say it's a suitable substitute for Barium Carbonate, but I suggest a 3 to 2 ratio. I tried that for stomach upset once. It was ugly.

David it’s my opinion of course, but going that route to primarily monitor yourself playing is not the best way to go. Unless you just have to do headphones for some reason. I played around with that interface and dropped it pretty quickly. Check out one of the little Yamaha THR amps. The THR5 is pretty good and relatively inexpensive. You’ll enjoy playing your electric much more. I received the modeling stuff. It is more involved than what I want to deal with. You and Peter knew better than me! I will be returning my $80 Amazon purchase. Today I bought a used little tube amp, the "Stage Right by Monoprice 15-Watt 1x12 Guitar Combo Tube Amp with Celestion Speaker and Spring Reverb" that I mentioned before. I got it for $150. Both of my electrics sound pretty good through it. I am anxious to get my American Deluxe Tele back from my son to see how it sounds. I am now glad that Paul S did not take me up on my offer to sell it a few years ago. You da man!

No shit Sherlock. Where do you think the idea that sexualizing children behind parent's backs came from. Contrary to your peculiar view of the world, reality says these idiots should simply be shut down NOW.

And when one of these creep ass authorities starts diddling kids and telling them not to tell Mom and Dad because "it's our special secret" somebody's going to end up on the wrong end of a parent with a gun. That should end the whole thing. No, it will only invite more suggestions that guns should be banned. Given the overwhelming success that idea has had to date, my money's on the guy who blows away someone raping his child.

I purposely gave up the idea of art a long time ago in favor of marriage, food, family, heat, food, functional plumbing, clean bedding, etc. Oh, and food.
But I've always lived with the idea that the point of life is to have great stories to tell. And I've got an abundance of foolish that makes for great stories.

One of the oldest tricks in the Book is to screw with the image of God: man. It's an all-out assault right now. Never mind that we're sexualizing children at an absurdly young age, we are throwing all kinds insanity at them. So my step-granddaughter, 10 years old, says that her four best friends tell her they've decided they are all "trans". There's more. It's quite ugly. Yeah, this is all very disturbing. When you start messing with kids I get pissed. I agree. And now it's not even a "government" website. Just a bunch of supposed "authorities" (in what way, who the hell knows) self-regulating themselves while they openly encourage the overt sexualization of children while pushing this nonsensical definition of gender fluidity. And the parents aren't even allowed to know anything about what's going on. It's just inviting child abuse. And when one of these creep ass authorities starts diddling kids and telling them not to tell Mom and Dad because "it's our special secret" somebody's going to end up on the wrong end of a parent with a gun. That should end the whole thing.

Carefully moderated and confidential online support groups and safe spaces are also available to victims of domestic assault and battery and coercive control. Maybe they should be damned for existing because violent spouses exist? (Some sites for such victims also have 'hide' buttons) Those are adults with the backing of police power. Not the same thing at all. Which you'd know if you weren't all in for this kind of nonsense.

I haven't seen the material yet, as most have not. Interesting how posters here seem to be searching for references to support their view of government. I ask that they look to whether they want to learn the truth or just to gather ammunition. Spent too much time in government to need ammunition. This little silliness just can't end well.

Peter, I would guess that you would like most, or all, of Steely Dan's recordings. I love all of the following: Can't Buy a Thrill, Pretzel Logic; Katy Lied, Gaucho, The Royal Scam; Countdown to Ecstasy, and Aja. Most of their songs appeal to my sense of melody, and a bit of chordal adventure. Lyrics are hit and miss. But as a guitar player, I always enjoy the solos. Yeah, the Dan is great. Even just coping the rhythm parts is eye opening. I'm largely self taught, but when I did get around to taking it seriously I was already playing Steely Dan. And Larry Carlton. And George Benson. Just not quite as well. And once you're in on the joke, the lyrics are great.
