So, they're going to make their choice of college based on whether or not they can freely engage in sex without consequences. What magnificent priorities. I am AGREEING with you on this! And with Aqua and Bruce! Can you guys see that? Our opinions on these girls are the same. James freely calls it slut shaming. Argue with him.

Such a short but predictable step from "save the babies!" to "shame the whores!". Well, not getting pregnant is pretty easy to do. So what's the big deal with leaving the state of New York because another state may or may not offer abortions?

I heard a couple high school girls being interviewed on NPR the other day. They were from the state of New York, which is apparently a safe-haven state. One said that she will be a senior in high school this fall and was planning on looking for a college to attend out of state, but now that doing so most likely wouldn't give her control over her body, her decision is to stay in her home state. I was really disappointed in hearing that. The vast bulk of us who have supported Roe VS Wade weren't doing so to support girls who want to use abortion as a form of contraception. The vast majority of us who are saddened to hear the demise of Roe vs Wade supported abortion in only the direst or circumstances. Those girls just don't get it. At all. And they're making a whole bunch of us look bad. (Not to mention I can't imagine what their parents thought if they heard the interview). So what state was she thinking of going to school in? Certainly not one of those redneck refuges. Heaven forbid! And New York, like California are probably never going to prohibit abortion probably up to and including young adulthood. So what's the problem? She's probably not going to permanently move away from NY until she's done with school so if she gets knocked up, she can go home on spring break and have the pregnancy terminated. Easy peasy. In, out, and back to school to continue to service the male students there.

Democrats will run a Soviet show "trial" all day long for weeks at a time and won't go to an actual court where they accused gets a fair hearing and a chance to present the other side, under real oath and real penalties for lying. Because they're gutless turds.

She was Mark Meadows top aid. Now your name calling, and being a bully. You do that all the time. I'm a veteran and I'm still tough enough to be called names. Good for you. I'm not a veteran and can take being called names too.

We will see what comes out. She said she heard about that and didn't see it herself if you remember. All the other testimony is what I go by.and they where mostly Republicans, Remember. You didn't watch any of the hearings, DID You?? Why would I? I can get more than my fill of bullshit from you.

And Ketchup Man said he hardly knew her. He has said that about lots of people that where close to him. Of course he didn't know her. She was a third tier staffer to Mark Meadows. She wasn't even in the vicinity of the vehicle where Trump rode- EVER. Period. The whole hearing thing has become just like the Jessie Smollett trial- an absolute farce. Apparently the DOJ is bugged because to committee won't hand over witness transcripts. I wonder why?

In your opinion. My facts are straight. I have watched all the committee hearings. I've gone over to fox news and there are hosts that are just coming to realize just how greasey Ketchup Man is. Her testimony has been backed up by other Republicans that went before the committee.you didn't watch any of it. No, it's not my opinion. The Secret Service agent and the driver of the vehicle that Trump was in are offering to testify that it never happened and in fact, couldn't happen since the front seats of the vehicle are physically separated from the passenger compartment just in case something happens to the agents driving the vehicle and the President still needs to be protected. Basic security stuff that, like, everybody with half a brain knows. Sorry you didn't know that.

No he doesn't. Yesterday's committee hearing is what will get ketchup Man in prison and a bunch of others. Apparently you didn't catch the fact that the young woman's testimony was a brazen lie. Try harder to keep up.

No, I don't think that's the case. Russia now has resorted to a slow bludgeoning approach to their war effort. They out number the Ukrainian forces by 10:1 (or something like that). They're just grinding their way slowly across the Donbass. It's costly for Russia, but they have a bigger force and can accept greater losses without diminished capability. Sort of like Grant wearing down Lee in the Civil War. Or Sherman's march to the sea. The final outcome is undetermined. But the Russians are not losing. It's a matter of how long are they willing to pay the heavy price for the ground they gain. Putin's not the kind of guy that backs down from anything. Putin figures all he has to do is keep grinding for two years until he has another weak suck-up Republican President who will withdraw from NATO and hand Ukraine over to the Russians in exchange for Hunter Biden's laptop. Easy peasy. That's gotta make one wonder why Putin didn't do this when Trump was President and Hunter's laptop wasn't handed to a repair technician for free. Apparently you've got the wrong party for a weak suck-up corrupt President.

good morning. Another typical Florida summer day awaits. Started up my morning bike rides again today. I took a few weeks off to rehab my aching legs which I had pushed too far. Apparently moderation is the key. Lesson learned. Have good ones folks. Colorado Avalanche fan?

WORD. Ugh, the memories I've forgotten.... Interesting. Many Asians lack some or all of the enzyme that breaks down alcohol. This results in their getting intoxicated or physically ill with minimal alcohol intake. I had a Korean colleague in residency who was ill with half a beer. When I was going to Korea I never met a Korean who couldn't drink. Most of them quite enjoyed it. And smoking- like chimineys. While I had good advice from the General Counsel of Hyundai America and an engineer who worked for him that kept me out of the traps, the stories of a drinking game called "I give you my heart"- basically going around a table, slamming your head on the table and then downing a shot until only one winner is still conscious were quite legendary.

Here is something you might not know, I was a founding member of the Malort Club.
Jeppson's Malört is named after Carl Jeppson, a Swedish immigrant who first distilled and popularized the liquor in Chicago. Malört (literally moth herb) is the Swedish word for wormwood, which is the key ingredient in a bäsk, a bitter-flavored type of Swedish brännvin. One night we were sitting at the bar in Nellies just before closing. One of my friends joked with the bartender what could we get for free. He smiled and pulled out a dusty bottle and poured three shots for Tom, Dave and I. It was awful stuff, but became a tradition that if you were going to come out and drink with us, you had to join "The Malort Club" and buy a round of it for the group. When the bartender moved to a big Rush St. bar, he started the tradition all over and now it's a big thing. For those of you wondering, my friend Dave (also a founding member) hit upon the best description of Malort's taste. Imagine a rain water barrel filled with oak leaves that have been fermenting for a while, then spray the oak leaves with Raid bug spray to drive off any bugs and bottle it.
When I was working for Volvo in DC I spent a fair amount of time with Swedish big wigs like the Swedish ambassador and various corporate vice presidents and presidents. They had something called Aquavit that they took slugs of any time they could think of a reason. Christmas was a particularly big time for celebrating over there as was the first 2 weeks in August when the outside temperature got up to about 65 degrees and everyone took time off to go to the beach and drink themselves silly. Aquavit tastes like it's very close to Malort. Apparently if you can find anything that will ferment in Sweden, you take advantage of it. Hell, it's dark outside for half the year. What else are you going to do? One very important lesson I've learned from both the Swedes and the Koreans- don't accept a drinking game challenge. You ain't in that league.

Kim passed away a year ago today. That's got to be brutal. I've made this recommendation to others here but I'm not sure I ever made it to you. Simply, I'd recommend reading "A Severe Mercy". That's all. Hope you eventually come to a peace with it.
