We are new to RV travel. We always traveled by hotel hopping. Hotels don’t put through credit charges when you reserve a room. Only at the time of the stay. It seems like the camp grounds take the funds at the time of the reservation (which could be months before the visit). Is this common with campgrounds to do this?

They’d probably have a much better chance for success if they went all electric. A motorcycle is a perfect fit for electric and they should be WAY cheaper just on parts count alone.

Being an engineer, I agree with all your conclusions. Every patent I ever got was built off some prior work with a unique twist to make it better. The patent system long ago recognized the need to build off prior art, so they created the exclusionary period so the inventor can profit off the idea in exchange for disclosing the patent details for “future work”.
And in many ways, the limited copyright period (even if it is 99 years after the authors death), is intended to eventually allow copyrighted material to be leveraged in future work.

Today for some reason I remembered seeing the movie The Alamo with John Wayne, Richard Widmark, Laurence Harvey and assorted other actors. This was the 1950s. I grew up in Texas and a movie about Texas was a big deal to us. Besides, the Alamo was a quasi-religious site. We all had to go see the film. In the movie, Jim Bowie (Widmark) and William Travis (Harvey) despise each other. At one point, through gritted teeth, Bowie says to Travis, "Travis, you can't help being you and I can't help being me," followed by something far less memorable about how they needed to cooperate for the sake of the noble cause they were both serving. Obviously that line stuck in my mind. It has bubbled to the surface, through all the layers of algae and muck, once or twice a decade. That may have been the most enduring lesson I ever learned about human relations. It also says we need another good ‘ol war to bring everybody in the country together.

Thanks for the link. I used a Homespun Tapes book of his called Rhythm is Where it’s At or something like that. I’ve got that one too. There is also a swing lead lesson on Homespun that he also did.

The big difference over Dowling’s technique is that Mike only plays 3 note swing forms (he calls 10 chords). Looks like he throws in more notes per chord. I use a lot of those Dowling 3 note chords. Love them. As a side note, Mike has published a book called “Rhythm by the Code”. He provides a swing progression for 25 swing tunes. I like the way he provides a shorthand notation for his chord forms. I bought a copy a while back and it really helped quickly get more proficient at playing in that style. Rhythm by the Code

I wonder how much of what you paid was tariffs. The tariff adder in mine was around $200 according to what the Trek sales rep said.

“If we had confidence that the president did not commit a crime, we would have said so." That is turning the entire American system of justice on its head. That is exactly "Guilty until proven innocent." I can not STAND Donald J. Trump. Today I would vote for him. For the first time since Trump entered politics. Again, I cannot stand the man. This is so unjust, though, I would vote for the man now. Maybe not tomorrow. But based on this injustice, I would vote for him today. Really? I don’t see it.

Although we are planning an RV trip up to Oregon for the 4th of Jul. to beat the heat for a little while. Umm, hello. Where in Oregon are you headed? We will be at a Airstream rally in Ashland, OR, at Emigrant Lake campground forr the Shakespere festival the last week in June. After that we are heading to the coast and staying at the Waldport KOA for the fourth festivities (local parades, pancake feed at the fire dept., ladies auxiliary pie sales, etc) in Waldport and Yachats. Mike Mike, We are heading up to La Grande OR. My cousin lives up there and is having a music gathering over the 4th. Taking a couple guitars in fact. We won’t be getting to the coast. It’s a 10 day trip with most of it getting up there and back.

I don’t mind his eating the Jehovah Witnesses but eating the pizza delivery men is heartless. I don’t know. If he gets meatless pizzas and then uses the delivery guy as a meat source, it could provide for a balanced diet.

Met Bart Star while getting off a flight many years ago. I introduced myself and told him I wanted to meet him. He was just the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet. He wanted know to more about me than hear me praising him. Very down to earth and not a hint of ego.

One of the oldest cons in the book. Get naive musicians to die from exposure to line someone else's pockets. Also known as an Open mic.
