Had a 4 hour appointment today to remove the splint cast, take out sutures, have x-rays, and get a new, hard, 4 week cast. Dr said everything looks good, is healing nicely, and he went over the procedure with us and showed us before and after x-rays. I have a much more comfortable Cubbies blue fiberglass cast and my foot is actually where it belongs. I have one metal plate, a rod that goes from heel to shin, and 28 screws. I may use the x-ray as next year’s Christmas card. I feel surprisingly good although I was a bit exhausted when we got home & I slept a couple hours.

I remember hearing about your upcoming surgery, LJ, and how long the recovery time would be. It's great to hear that you are healing, that's important for a lot of us to know.
