We've decided that it's too many back to back trips. Key west next week then IJ and then Kauai. Wait, of the three the one you decided to scrap was seeing me at Idiot Jam? What kind of logic is that? I'll get over it.

Greetings all,
I know it can't be exact, but I was hoping to get a rough head count of who will be attending Friday night. As I said before, we'll be meeting at a place called Beast and Bird that evening, I'm guessing around 5:00 or so. If you were here last year, Beast and Bird is the caterer that provided the catered bbq to us last year. He's in the process of opening up a restaurant, which is by the old Modern Motel. I need the head count because Logan is deciding we will pay per plate or if he will provide us with a set-up like last year. Either way he's thinking $10 a plate.
He's got a really cool stage set up (I've played there), so we can eat then hopefully some or all of you can be talked into playing up front that would be great, as the public will also be there. He doesn't have a sound system yet, hopefully one of you can provide something like you have other places in the past? It'd be much appreciated. I'm stopping on my way home this afternoon to get a picture to post tonight.
Beast and Bird is hoping to become a big music venue for the area, so the night we are there they will be having a fundraiser to raise money to pay off ASCAP or BMI or whoever. This is their fundraiser, not ours, we have no responsibility towards that. Just letting you know it will be mentioned by them.

Hard to say exactly when I get in, but I certainly hope to hit Vinton around suppertime. Five hour drive, so if I can get myself out the door before noon, that should work. And even if I'm late, I still arrive hungry.

I should be there Thursday evening. I intend to be at Beast and Bird. I even follow the restaurant on Facebook.

Here's a couple shots of the Beast and Bird outdoor area with the stage. All is in a state of progress, but will be cleaned up by Idiotjam.

Breaks my heart to say I won’t be there. I’m too inclined not to pay attention and wander.

This year is going to be a challenge for our (mostly family) bluegrass band. Our fiddle player has a conflict and it’s not a song we can manage well without it. So I think we’re going to just watch this year and I can put my banjo in the shop to be worked on. But we would like to be ready to do a song or two next year. Our family played a couple years ago and Joy played with us and made it such a positive experience for us.

Ten-day forecast indicates pleasant September weather for Vinton and Garrison. Partly cloudy, highs in the 70s and lows around 50.

I will attempt to pick up some thing from Millstream Brewery if anyone is interested, unfortunately, I will not be able to partake with current stomach issues.
I will also bring some extra guitars. I have a few for sale if anyone is interested, just ask and I'll add them to the collection. Will definitely bring the little Alvarez so you can see what JohnB is missing out on by sending his back.
Any other requests should be submitted in clear writing on a $100 bill. (One request per bill, please)

I'm envious. I would sure like to be there. I called the Iowa Attorney General and they agreed to lift the restraining order for that one weekend.

Those of you who were at Idiot Jam last year got to meet Pam and Tara, sisters of our late friend Dennis O'Neil. I recently contacted Pam via Facebook to encourage them to return this year. Pam responded that Tara would be coming but events on the island prevent her attendance this year. Let's look forward to welcoming Tara.
