What song has it? Not solo. Riff. Is it:
Walk This Way? Life In The Fast Lane? I Know A Little or Sweet Home Alabama? Day Tripper?
What song's got the best riff ever?

How about
"Ride My See Saw" Moody Blues.
"20th Century Schizoid Man" King Crimson.

You have to define "riff". I know it when I hear it doesn't cut it unless you are the Supreme Court.

Walk This Way is up there. There are so many. But I'll put Black Dog up there, closely followed by Good Times, Bad Times. That is riff rock at it's finest.

Hmmm...Not sure if any of these qualify as "best", but when I think "song defined by the riff", I'm getting:
Sweet Child O' Mine Back in Black Sunshine of Your Love Smoke on the Water You Really Got Me
Of course, the definitive example is right here:

Beethoven's Fifth Symphony recorded by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra directed by Sir George Solti. Damn thing gives me chills.

I gotta believe Expresso Love's all right, but the first one that came to mind was Rollin' and Tumblin'
Whatever song we decide has the best riff gets the Billy Gibbons trophy.

Brown Sugar oughta be high on the list. I never was a big fan of the Stones but Keith Richards certainly came up with some memorable riffs.

I hate to do it, but someone has to point out the elephant in the room. Stairway...

All excellent choices (and brings the Allman Bros up to three mentions in this thread) The Animals take on CC Rider has always been a favorite. Kinks You Really Got Me might be too repetitive, but it sure is signature and memorable.

The clip of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" reminds me of Bruce's keynote SXSW speech where he recounted directly lifting that riff for "Badlands."

Music A short rhythmic phrase, especially one that is repeated in improvisation.I'd say Stairway qualifies. It sets up the repeated pattern of the whole song. Beach Boys intro to Surfin' USA.
