Um... The false premise is that "the whip comes down". Whips don't come down, whips crack. It's hammers that come down. (whips cracking and hammers coming down are both are metaphors for consequences. Whips coming down is a sexual reference in the GLQSRDP community.) ((John was having fun with language. I'm not sure what Mike was up to with his "whips coming down", but those Airstream folks sound like they must be quite the party bunch.) Yep. Pretty much. Yeah, much as I wouldn't care to hang out with DT, I have to agree with Peter. I think that a good bit of the attacks and accusations have been the machinations of people who hate him so much that they are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to find, exaggerate, and if necessary, manufacture things to leak to their partners in the press in order to generate one shit storm after another. If BHO, or Joe Biden, or Hillary Clinton would EVER have received the tidal wave of attacks and investigations that DT has- so far- weathered there is no way of gauging what we would have learned. Joe is just NOW getting a few half hearted questions about funneling money to his son and he is already throwing a fit. They are just not used to being questioned. You guys here think that DT support here in Red State country is eroding but the denizens of the hinterlands where I live see what I do: that justice and the investigatory function of the Press are just not equally applied. They may get him on these phone calls. Looks like they have finally opened up a wedge. But Durham and Barr are not done yet and we have yet to hear the other shoe drop. If any of you care to look at reporting outside of the NYT and WaPo go read some John Solomon or Sara Carter. Look at their references and see if there is not, maybe, possibly, just a chance- even though you can't stand him- that DT has been unfairly investigated, attacked, lied about, and vilified by some pretty underhanded politicians, agents of the government, and partisan reporters. This does not mean I think he knows what he is doing, is a nice person, or knows the difference between bullshit and reality. I'm just talking about what is fair and right in my eyes. I love you guys (mostly) but we just don't see things the same way. |

I hope Biden gets the nomination because I suspect he would get enough Anybody-But-Trump votes to win the election. But I doubt he'll get it. His campaign puts it out that he doesn't want to mud-wrestle and all that, but Trump's behavior offers such a target-rich environment, and Biden can't seem to fire anything but wiffle balls.
