Hitler wasn't much for barbecue. Food of the degenerate classes, doncha know. As for their music. . . .

Hitler aside, I know I’m late to the most recent discussion..
I don’t want to speak for Todd and certainly do not want anything I might say to upset him, but I do know that Todd has been adamant about helping Logan get this business off the ground. Those who attended Friday night last year at the mercantile will remember that Logan catered our Friday night get together.
I firmly believe that having the Friday night get together and music at Beast & Bird is targeted at getting more people to show up there. The crowd, if any, will likely ignore us, but some may not. Hopefully, we can enjoy each other’s company, play a little music, and if it is too cool to be outside, move to the cobblestone and continue there. Considering how warm the weather has been, I don’t think the idea that it might be too cool outside had come to mind.

Just playing Devil's advocate here, Joe, but this could have been explained more clearly earlier on. Not that I have any skin in this game in 2024. But, you know, 49 years in editing.
Russell: Hitler was a vegetarian, of all things.

There is a change for Friday night. Does anyone remember the bbq that was catered to the Merc Friday night? That guy is opening a restaurant, Beast and Bird, in Vinton and we'll be there instead. A big advantage the Merc has for Friday is space; this place will afford us the same. We can eat some good bbq, have all the space we want, have a stage, and we're blocks from the Cobblestone, which is good. The place is right next to the old Modern Motel. Here's a couple pictures, one of the outside and one of the inside: Lovely, isn't it? A quick aside, my Illinois friend Jay and I will be playing there this Saturday, rain or shine, hopefully shine, this Saturday. Logan, the proprietor, is having a pre-opening party there, will have his food trailer set up, and we're expecting quite a crowd no matter what the place looks like. It might not be officially open by the time we show up but things like walls and floor will be there and I promise two things: Really good food and a really interesting time. You are right Howard, this wasn’t explicit. I’m just speculating on what Todd may have had in mind. He may have also been hoping that the indoors would be done by Labor Day.

Beast and Bird is hoping to become a big music venue for the area, so the night we are there they will be having a fundraiser to raise money to pay off ASCAP or BMI or whoever. This is their fundraiser, not ours, we have no responsibility towards that. Just letting you know it will be mentioned by them. okay, I missed this.
