Great pictures! Nice F hole binding on that Eastman. That is not easy to do. Mark it looks like the tailpiece repair we did years ago is holding. 🤞

For those of you wishing you were here, this picture of me may make you happy you stayed away. Yow! Worst case of nose hair I have ever seen.

I saw Mark's hand - that's a perfect C chord - No, that’s not a C chord at all. It’s a D9 chord with no root (D) as used by Merle Travis.

Sorry to all those we missed saying goodbye to this morning. The aches kept Sue and I from making it to the diner before 10:30am.
John B, how come I look so fat in all those pictures, wait a minute, I think I just realized why, never mind!

Yep Dub - it was a D9 and you can move it with a left middle finger - then it's C chord. Sounds like country - Merle Travis and bluegrass pickin' The Blue Music is different EAB7 and ADE7

I’m still loving this treasure of an instrument. I would like to stop in the next time I’m driving by your shop (grin) and have you look it over. Everyone who played it this weekend loved the way it plays. Saturday night at the Mercantile, I played it through a NUX Amp Academy. The Amp Academy is much easier to carry than an Ampeg Supereverb R-15-R.

Made it home. Had a great time. Thanks all. Me, too -- wonderful weekend/reunion. My route home took longer than my route to Vinton on Friday, onaccounta some construction lane closures and detours, but nothing too stressful. Weather was perfect on both travel days. Darryl, you were missed.

Home. Saw a nifty Triumph Spitfire on I-80. It looked mighty spiffy even with stuff strapped to the boot.

Got home just after 5:00, not as tired as I thought I might be after 5.5 hours of driving. Having an audiobook to listen to helped, I think. The loaner Outback helped, too--a quiet, comfortable ride. Nevertheless, I'll be glad to retrieve our own Outback tomorrow morning, even if it doesn't have Sirius XM. (It fits in our garage without having to fold in the wing mirrors.)

I wondered where that almost sexy black Outback came from, and why you were driving it, but regardless, glad to hear you made it home OK. And let the record reflect that you played and sang in fine fashion, as usual. AND STOP DENYING (or diminishing) THAT, which drives me crazy!

Got home around 9:30. Not a bad drive, even with the proliferation of orange barrels.
I recommend Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 as road music for the last leg of a long drive.

I don’t usually post much on the Sound Hole, but just can’t help doing so today. Every year is like a long awaited oasis and never seems to fail to refresh all of our memories of the years we’ve shared. Even though we have lost too many dear friends or missed so many for reasons that are mostly beyond their control, it feels like those who weren’t here physically, came to this gathering in our hearts and in our fingers. Most of those who couldn’t be there for any reason in person, urged us on spirit to be the best we could be and as usual, resulted in once again touching those who came to be near us. A couple came up to me as they left the Mercantile on Saturday night and said they often come to Garrison for the monthly shows, but that this particular night was amazing to them. They oozed a bit of the magic which we all shared and once again exuded. I always feel like the show on Saturday night is an intimate affair, and it doesn’t seem to really matter whether there is a large or tiny audience, we do this for each other, and those who watch us can’t help but be touched. I am absolutely addicted to watching everyone and cheering them on from the sidelines. I get filled up too, like the proud old lady I have become, watching all the dearest loved ones in my life flourish. And every one of you is a dearest loved one. I don’t know how this magic always shows up, but it does - every year and in different ways, no matter who manages to actually be present. I don’t want to name all those who are present in my heart and in spirit, fearing and knowing that I will leave someone’s name out. However Todd who couldn’t physically be there this year because he was in the hospital, but was present there once again is spirit. So many of us tried to include Todd and his girls, via photography and videos and actual visits to the hospital. I’m hoping Todd, Kim, Peyton and Taylor felt like they were at IJam this year, because they were there in our minds and hearts too. I don’t know how many times I heard people ask who was going to do what Melva and David usually do, yet we filled in for you this year the best we could. I have to mention LJ and Doc and Howard and Terry and Marty and David and Melva and Katherine and Larry and Dennis and Doug and Roger, Lonnie and Patti and Larry and Janice, Jerry and Alan and so many others whose names I haven’t mentioned. You are all so loved and were here, alive or not, simply missing or not, but filling us up once again with your presence emotionally and musically. Among the moments I cherish so much this year, was time spent with Russell at the depot, where he let me be a part of his process of writing his first song, and then performing it. I’m crazy about you Russell! Thank you❤️ It was so rich to have dinner at the Rendezvous with Rob, then John, then Don. Every minute wonderful. We all missed dinner at Phil and Debbie’s but Mark and I covered as best we could. Felt great to give Phil and Debbie a hug on Friday after the loss of their family member. I can’t express all the feelings I felt in once again spending time with Tara (and Dennis) and Pam and meeting Leslie. Thank you for driving all the way from Oregon to be here. You are part of this family of Ijamers, now and forevermore. For Amy who gives the best hugs every time I see her and who shows up to take videos and photos and who lovingly writes and publishes articles about and for all of us. For Nick and his granddaughter who so generously let us invade the Mercantile and trust us to take care of it, and who also give great hugs! For the ladies who do all the work to provide us with food and more hugs too, in exchange for our donation to them and the library which we all continue to help to rebuild. To Robert, a very dear and special friend who took care of the sound on Saturday evening. To Bob and his wife Dee/Donna of 24 days, who remind us of good times spent on his porch with Dennis and Doug and bacon squares over the years. To the lady who was present enjoying our music as we played at her Depot in Vinton on Saturday afternoon, providing us with coffee, water, some goodies and a wonderful place to commune. Marshall, it was great talking with you about you and about Kari too, and hearing your music too. To Rob - you are another who is so special to me. When you put on that mustache and cowboy hat and did your Cowboy poetry, I just melted. I don’t know who knows that you miraculously performed as you listened to poetry in your ears WHILE reciting it on stage. I don’t know anyone else who could have done that, but I have to tell you I loved the third poem the best - done at your pace while reading it. My heart nearly burst as Bill participated by playing his guitar at the Cobblestone and talking to us and being fully present with us this year. I hope to hear you and see you again next year - it matters to all of us. To Joe and Sue too. Joe, I absolutely loved your love song. Please do more of these love songs along with your funny songs. It was wonderful - Mr Iowa Man!!!!! I keep being so proud of Taylor and Peyton who watched over their Dad and who would have had us all out to their home if Dad could have been sprung from the hospital. You two and Kim were there in my heart as we came back from the Mercantile on Saturday night. We all missed you! The final experience this year, laying Dennis’ ashes to rest with Tara and Leslie and the tin, after the Sunday morning breakfast and farewells, just put us over the top emotionally. We did that for Dennis and his family and for Todd and Todd’s daughters who shared the last year with Dennis in the tin in their kitchen, and for all of us who will continue to remember Dennis as well as others who have passed ahead of us. We are absolutely exhausted and so filled with thoughts of you all today. When I think back to the Swale, I feel overwhelmed by everyone who was there then, and every single year since. Truly an oasis. Thank you all for coming here, for urging on each and everyone one of us; for filling us up so that we somehow once again create this magic and are filled up by it, and for those who are touched by it and go home feeling amazed at the intimacy of what we all shared again, not for show, but for the love of each other, and with the unique gifts each of us brings with us to IJam. I dearly love you all and continue to feel you and be filled to overflowing with you. Thank you for being in my life, forever. Love, Fiddlerina

Dear Joy, such a loving and beautiful tribute about all that has come before and continues to blossom -- thanks for putting into sweet words what most of us could only hope to do. You are such a treasure (as is that guy you hang out with all the time!) ...

I heard from Tara and Leslie a bit ago and they are now home. We visited Todd today and he seemed in very good spirits tonight. Just thought I’d pass both things along.
