Man, who influence on me and my musical friends. Return to Forever was an amazing group. No Mystery, Romantic Warrior, sheer brilliance. Listening to his album Solo, that he released last year, just him and a piano, live. Amazing.

It’s actually gone below freezing here! It’s going to snow! 😎
Which is damned cold for Vancouver. The wind has been howling for a couple of days as well. Nice today, just cold. Our winters are bad enough, being grey and wet. I couldnn’t do eastern winters.

....to destroy those files so that they can divert the funds into their own domiciliary account abroad without the knowledge of the federation... Because if the federation finds out, they’ll send Starfleet after you.....

Are you bulging into my conversation, or are you just happy to see me?

Kayak. Much easier to handle, better in more different kinds of water, way more maneuverable. Have a few friends with them. The river sized ones you can haul around yourself. You can also get roof racks that tip and bring it to you.

We’re pretty much worth about a million now, between home, retirement savings, pension, etc. Being a millionaire ain’t what it used to be.

It’s easy if you start with two million. Or, to make a small fortune, start with a large one and try to make a living as a touring musician.

Well, if no one thought Brady was the GOAT, um, what about now? I dunno what the hell he’s going to do when he finally retires. Though it kind of looks like he might have a few more years left in him at this rate....

I'm just trying to erect enough barriers to keep the geese outta my yard. Put up a side fence and though I was safe. Nope Canada geese? They’re awful. They’re all over the parks around here, and goose crap is everywhere. It’s unfortunate they don’t taste very good, or the problem could be solved.

We had to get some work done last summer because of a leaking dishwasher. Every single guy that came through, general contractors, flooring, plumbing, cabinets, said they were crazy busy. Everyone’s at home, everyone decided that since they were, they might as well get stuff done. Hopefully they have enough to keep going after they’ve spent 10s of 1000s on renos.

I finally listened to one this year. The major problem I have is how long it takes to get through them. I’d like to try one where they have a full ensemble cast; the one I read was one guy, and it was okay, but I gather the direction is to have more of a production, where they have different voices for all the characters. Lord of the Rings is apparently quite spectacular.
But reading for me is reading. I like to sit with a book/kindle/ipad.

I was on oxygen just at night for a year or so, but was recently bumped up to 24/7. My life is totally “tubular” now. 42 years of stupidity with cigarettes and however many years of smoking everything else under the sun. The sins of our youth, and middle age, and ongoing.

I have found little difference on the cargo between strings, to be honest. I like mediums because they just feel a little more firm with the short scale. I use elixirs because they last. Doug used the cheapest strings he could buy, I think he bought them by the box, Black Diamonds I believe.
The controls in mine are shit. I don’t use the pickup much, if I was, I think I’d replace everything. The controls actually rattle, and have now been damped by a piece of felt.

The only thing I ever knew about Gary Indiana was that song. Incredible what’s happened. So far, Canada has avoided much of that kind of thing in its major cities, mostly because there were never any major industrial centers like that, I’d guess. Resource towns come and go, but they’re a lot smaller than a place like Gary.

My wife used to be in the wine business. They had a representative of a major winery in France in their store to talk to customers. Guy comes in, starts talking to the winery rep about his collection. It was apparently quite something. “I’ve got this, I’ve got that. What do you think I need still?” The reply was, “A corkscrew.”
I’ve had some very nice scotch, up to $300 a bottle. I cannot honestly see how my taste buds could tell the diff with that stuff. I’d certainly be drinking it. If I had 54k to spend. You could buy at least half a dozen spendy custom acoustic guitars for that, and they don’t disappear after you play them.

I think it’s pretty funny. Been lots of good articles. My favourite quote was that it’s not okay for a bunch of reddit users to manipulate the mark, but it’s okay for the hedge funds to do it, which is what they’re doing when they short.
What shorting is, for those who don’t know, is you borrow a stock from a brokerage, then immediately sell it. You hope it goes down in price, because when it’s time to return it, you buy it at the lower price and return it, and keep the difference. But of course, if it goes up in value, you’re screwed. So the Reddit users all got together to buy the stocks the hedge funds were betting against, drove the price up, screwing the hedge funds, who now have to return the stocks at a much higher price.
But, the Reddit group are a bunch of cowboys. There’s a video on CNN of one idiot. He makes about 35k a year in his job. He invested $4,500 in Gamestop, and it’s now worth over a million dollars. But, he says it’s going to go up more, so he’s hanging in there. My brother in law is a wealthy man, and one of his golden rules is don’t get greedy, get out when it’s good. That guy could take his million, pay his capital gains, and set up himself and his family for a long time. When the time comes for everyone to get out, it’s going to drop like a rock.

These are the kind of things that cause people to join/form unions, when people are forced to work ridiculous hours. There is nothing more joyous than working for a management group who “calculates” how hard you can work. It’s rampant in IT, but the pay is generally a lot better, so you get tons of money to eat stress. It’s not healthy long term.
