Morning!
Off to band practice. Then walk the dog. Then head up to the farm with dog and mow. Looks to be a perfect September day.

No floods, fires, or earthquakes in North Dakota. And you should see how lovely it is right now, the beet fields are just beginning to turn and the countryside is alive with mottled browns.

Just move the pool a little ways away from that cage thing the squirrel climbed up on.

Anyway, I posted some of my dogwalk photos here to get some reactions, thinking perhaps next time Don does a photo exhibit, maybe I could piggyback, do a joint exhibit with him. I have quite a few more from the same walk, same perspective, and put together, they tell a story. And the story is all. I think "Dog and Desert" is a natural pairing, and would be a great title for our exhibition.
What do you think, Don?
Or, Howard, you know the route. Any exhibits in your neck of the woods you could slip my dogwalk series in? We don't really need Don. I could whittle it down to only two or three dozen photos if I had to.

Morning!
I had to grab an extra blanket last night as well. 49F overnight. It's still in the low 50s and I'm wearing my Vikings hoodie. High will be mid-70s.
Off to get my Covid booster and flu shot. Then I will plant some tulips and practice my trombone solo for our upcoming concert on the 24th (trombone solos are hard to come by).

Hard to believe that Casper is 9 already. He's doing great.
The genesis of the dog walk photos: My three brothers and I stay in close contact and have a running text deal that goes down different trails and rabbit holes. Well, brother 4 posted a short series of photos detailing what he saw during his morning walk about the Irish country side. Brother 2 responded with a series of photos detailing what he saw during his morning walk in the Canyonlands. So I, brother 3, put together a little series of photos detailing what I saw during my morning walk.
Waiting for brother 1's morning walk.

Poor Twins.
But, the Vikings are a very pleasant surprise.
And the Lynx are a powerhouse!
But, feel good about the Tigers. It's been a long, dark, stretch for the Tigers, but they are following the Lions out of the basement. They have a good young club with lots of young pitching. I like Cleveland, too. Twins or no Twins, I hope the Central throttles the East and West (especially the East... Damn Yankees!)
And it looks like the White Sox are going to have a record breaking season of their own.
Go Central!

The Artist SeriesThis series of photos poses a question, why does the subject leave the path for the wood? The answer is unknown, but note the use of color and light as it creates a contrast between path and wood; the path a harshly lit stark urban gray, the wood a lush pastoral green seen in a soft filtered light. Does the positioning of the subject's nose in the first photo indicate a yearning? The second photo a call answered?

Morning!
Went for a walk this morning. Took a new route hoping to see something different. Nope, same view as yesterday's walk, and the day before that, and the day before that, and, well, all summer.

Good going, Todd.
Quite an ordeal. But, many years from now you will look back and say, "Well, that really sucked". But, the "many years from now" is the important part/

I don't know if Dub recalls that time or not. FC brought the dessert that day.

Agreed.
At one of the early IJams, I listened to Dub playing my Taylor 314. Not only did that guitar sound the best I had ever heard it, it was also the best Dub has ever sounded to me on any guitar. When a great player meets his soulmate of a guitar, great things happen. Dub and that little Taylor were magic together!
(I regret not giving it to him on the spot. Dub had the biggest damn smile on his face. They were meant for each other.)
