Again today I am brilliant. Wordled in 2. Tomorrow I will not be, but for this one day, I am word puzzle royalty. I got today's wordle in ONE. I don't count my three starter words as they are just the words used to start the game. My kids say I can't count it that way, but I say I can. And I do. And after those three starter words started the game, I got it in ONE!

It's DRAFT DAY! I'll be on the phone all day with Vikings coaches and management. Pretty intense. They're 11 and 23. Fat chance of picking up anyone. Which makes a good team of scouts all the more necessary. I work the fringes. Got a line on a 450lb nose tackle from NDSU. And the kid is still growing. He is a secret to the rest of the league as he is a music major and has never played a lick of football. So, you might call him a project. Ok, so he is definitely a project. If they want better work, they can pay me. (it appears the Vikes are desperate to trade up for a QB... and the entire league knows it. Hope they don't get fleeced!)

It is NBA playoff time and the T-Wolves are up 2-0 on the Suns. And in that light, I would like to propose a modest wager on who will win last night's game, say a twenty. I'll even spot you 11 points.

Morning!
Sunny and cool, but my tomatoes are in their toasty greenhouse. And I'm in my toasty kitchen. With the musical done, I feel like I've just retired with my days all my own. What to do... too early to nap, think I'll do a little gloating while googling up some Phoenix sports columns, then maybe go for a walk with Casper.

Race and Hispanic Origin, Boise
White alone, percent 85.0% Black or African American alone, percent(a) 1.5% American Indian and Alaska Native alone, percent(a) 0.6% Asian alone, percent(a) 3.4% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone, percent(a) 0.3% Two or More Races, percent 6.8% Hispanic or Latino, percent(b) 9.1% White alone, not Hispanic or Latino, percent 81.2%
Wow! 85% white. That's not very diverse. I much prefer the diversity of my town, Grand Forks. We have a healthy balanced mix of cultures: 38% Norwegian, 26% Swedish, 24% non-Scandinavian White, 12% something else. I'm so invigorated by my daily exposure to this vibrant blend of humanity, there are days I can actually feel my brain growing. Well, that, or else it's those brownies I get from FC.

If we have the power to turn Mars into a large, furry rabbit...
Then obviously we have the power to turn Earth into a large, furry rabbit.

NO ONE is to mention the trombone slide incident. You named your price and I paid it. End of story!

There are many benefits to living where no one else wants to.
Peaceful drives is one.
Heading north out of Mpls on interstate 94 is nuts. Bumper to bumper 80-85 mph. It gets a teensy weensy bit better after Rodgers. And almost reasonable once the St. Cloud crew gets dumped. And once Alex is passed, it is a nice ride to Fargo with maybe a dozen cars in sight fore and aft as far as the eye can see. And once you leave Fargo, it is just you and maybe one or two others heading on up to Grand Forks. If you want to go any further, say the Oslo exit, it is just you. I usually read a book.

Well, they hesitated to pay us at that Valley Home gig in Waterloo. In fact, they chased us out of the building. I told you not to do the Duck Dance with those ladies. But did you listen? Do you ever?

Wow! I see they've booked "The Duck Band" this November 14th. Man, I would go see them, if I wasn't in them.
(tickets should be reasonable)

I just can't help myself. So, I have quit trying.
We did "The Little Mermaid". And it was a big hit! Today's audience was even bigger than last night's. And very appreciative. We even got a standing ovation at intermission, a first in my experience. I think this would be a propitious time to ask for a raise!

Opening was a hit! We must had an easy 400 in the auditorium and they all standing at the end (and encouraged by some timely "whoops" from the sound and light booth, were very responsive the entire show). It was a good show! (and I didn't miss a cue...by much) (hey, I was running 16 mics plus lights, by much is good!) I don't believe you ever mentioned what show you're doing? ... We're doing "Oh! Calcutta!". "Hair" went over so well last year, we decided to continue exploring boundaries. Next year "Rent".

Well, as long as we are doing introductions, I don't know how I got here, I don't even play guitar. I'm a trombone player. I was googling for LK slide oil when I ended up getting LJ's toasted squirrel recipie over in the Soundhole culinary section. Well, I had just trapped a couple of the buggers in the garage, so I figured, what the heck. And it was GOOD.
Been here ever since.

Cheer up, LJ. Unlike the rest of you, your ankle will get better! (I used to write for Hallmark)

I forgot, we do have one other pro. Rob gets paid not to play. It's a gig.
(if you are ever near Houghton, IN, you can catch him most Saturdays on the corner of Willoughby and 4th by the new Walmart (with his sign, "You Pay or I Play").

You should know that Dub is an anomaly here... he gets paid to play! Iowa State Fair kind of money.
The only other pro we have is Concertinagirl. Her duo is booked solid playing polkas and waltzes all across the state of Wisconsin, which, if you know anything about Wisconsin, is pretty remarkable. That entire state is obsessed with early 20th century musicals. Making a go of it playing polkas and such in Wisconsin?... Amazing!
