I doubt it will be close. I always have. And people will continue to beat the incessant drum -- that Republican opposition is illegitimate. You do have brown eyes, don't you? BTW, my eyes are hazel and in most cultures that is a sign of great wisdom. Of course, there are hazel nuts, too, but I am pretty sure that is different. In some light, my eyes are green which shows that one is woodsy and of the earth.

PerspectiveI think this is a great election and I look forward to the outcome. I believe we're seeing the last gasp of progressive politics and all the corruption and stupid garbage that goes with it. Not necessarily because of any of the candidates, but because the machine has started to eat itself. Hell, Obama's FBI is threatening to potentially send Hillary to prison. That's got to scare the shit out of lesser, more vulnerable crooks. Just might start some of them thinking about toning down the encroaching police state lest it randomly turns on them. And in the end that's all that matters in this season of inconsequence. As for me, I wouldn't vote for more of Barry's incompetence (with a healthy side of professional corruption) if I had a gun to my head..... Well maybe with a gun to my head- ain't none of those clowns worth that. And I'll probably vote for Johnson as clearly the best candidate available. But the wife's nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs over the terrifying prospect of a Clinton victory (as are most of her coworkers-come to think of it as are most people I know) so I might vote Trump in support of her. Both perfectly reasonable options. Not worried at all.

I predict Bruce will begin Election Eve with a full bottle of Scotch. He will end it with an empty one. Bruce will not be the Lone Bottle Ranger. That is a brilliant idea. I'm in.

I have no prediction. All I know about any of this is what someone else wants me to know, and I don't trust or believe any of it.

Although Scotch will probably happen Tuesday, I'll find out about the election Wednesday morning. Tuesday I'll crash as usual about 9pm. Things I can't control aren't worth staying up for. I always expect to be disappointed and I'm rarely wrong.

You're wasted on the Patriots. You have what it takes to be a Vikings fan.

I'm mostly in agreement with Paul on his predictions but I don't think Trump goes away. I think we're going to see Trump TV channel which will be full of conspiracies, invective and innuendo. I won't be watching.

I won't be watching. I think Trump will exit politics from the standpoint of being a candidate. He may start a Trump TV which will fair about as well as his steaks and his airline. Trump TV could be Fox News on steroids and would appeal to the mindless conservatives that only want to hear what aligns with their alrwady twisted vision of reality. But it'd be nothing but a fly in the ointment just like Breitbart news that the vast majority of America never heard of before Trump brouht it to light.

I'll stick my neck out. GOP, RIP. It's the not so insignificant fringe elements fuelled by false information and buoyed up racial resentment that worry me.
OTOH, I was wrong about Brexit so.....

The smart money has got to be on Hillary. Too many ways for her to reach 270 electoral votes, and too few ways for Trump. Especially now that the indictment threat has been removed, at least for now.
The question is what happens over the next four years. With both chambers of Congress remaining under GOP control, which it seems they will, and no big political wind at Hillary's back, I'd say nothing much beyond gridlock and imprecations.
I learned long ago how risky it is to make political predictions for just about anything beyond the next week - or sometimes the next 24 hours - but I would hazard a guess that Hillary will be a one-term president. Fresh new faces will arrive by 2020, and maybe the Republican party will have figured out how to keep itself from being hijacked by a borderline lunatic. In any case, short of a good war to whip up some enthusiasm (got to go along with Doug here - to an extent, remembering that it worked for Washington, Lincoln and Roosevelt), I don't think she's going to wind up replacing anybody on Mt. Rushmore.

As for Donald, he has to decide whether he wants to continue being the head of a political movement, which he keeps calling it, or go back to making money and groping women. I'd say the odds are about even in either direction.

He's not head of a political movement. He's just an egotistical asshat. The unhappy folks will find someone a bit more believable to hang their hats on.
The FBI chief did his job, if he has managed to sow enough doubt that the GOP retains control of the house. As there was nothing fo see, apparently, the jackass running the show who broke protocol should have his butt fired. As to Hillary being a one term pony, who knows. She has not gotten too tired of the vitriol yet, so I'm pretty sure she'll survive some more.

The FBI thing is interesting. The Dems are saying that Hillary was exonerated again but that's not what happened. All Comey said was that he is sticking to his July statement. Back in July in his report he first listed all the crimes Hillary apparently committed and then said he didn't know of a prosecutor who would press charges. That's not exonerated, it an admission that no federal prosecutor would be dumb enough to charge a Clinton. To do so would be political suicide. There would have to be a change in the justice department and the white house before anyone would be dumb enough to press charges against Hillary. That's not "Exonerated" it's let off the hook due to status. The Clintons know they're above the law and have been for years.

And things might be different if drumpf had been denied his twitter acct much earlier, say, after the convention?
