Had a six-month melanoma check today, and as usual, the dermatologist checked virtually every square inch of my person (is there such a thing as butt cancer?). She found two wee spots that merited being sent off for biopsies, so I shall await those outcomes, but she didn't seem terribly concerned.

Just noticed an ad for Fresh Thyme Market that will make you all wish you lived near one. They're selling frozen ice cream. I am going to have to go get some of this rare treat before it thaws out. JACKPOT! There's one only 8 miles away! I HATE melted ice cream!

The Strib has a portal where readers can cite errors worthy of our printing a correction. Most have merit, and we follow through, but I would say that about 25% are bogus, like this one:
Hello,
Your piece about Hunter Biden (Asso. Press) has BEAU BIDEN listed as being in the photo with Hunter, Joe and Melissa.
BEAU IS DEAD!!!!
Maybe I should volunteer as a pro bono editor/proofreader?
Except the kid is indeed Beau Biden, Hunter's son, named after Hunter's late brother.

Some friends are selling their house. Downsizing. It’s a nice 12 yo house on a golf course. They listed it at $900k. They had 2 offers. And the ultimate buyers are a 40 something couple with a family. . . , and they offered to pay cash for the house. Their offer has been accepted. I wonder what denomination the bills will be in? Just kidding. I’m sure it’ll be some kind of bank transfer. But it boggles my mind that this couple had that kind of cash. He is the son of a neighbor of somebody else we know. As I repeatedly tell my wife, “The world has passed us by.” That's what you get for investing in mulberry futures when the smart people were investing in Trump Bibles and sneakers.

A beautifully mild weather week predicted with highs ranging from 64 to 75. The clover in my lawn has blossomed. I have let the Mason and honey bees have at it for a few days but I will probably cut it this afternoon. I will work a short motorcycle ride in today, along with a trip to the bark park, and maybe install the "Ring" doorbell camera. Who’s playing? I love watching our local AA tea, the Fischercats. They are part of the Blue Jays system. I also enjoy watching my grandkid play. As in dog off-leash area.

She was only 6 then, and has fague memories of the store. The building is still there. So they went to live in their country cottage, - which was still in the city limits out near Cumberland and the forest preserve. When they moved there, the building they lived in was meant to be a garage. But they converted it into a tiny residence. And there were no other houses on the block back then. (It's a built up city neighborhood now days). There had been a house next door, but it had burned down. So mom's dad built a chicken coup on the foundation and they raised chickens and sold eggs in the neighborhood. "Fading" + "vague" = "fague." I like it! When poultry takes over the barnyard = "chicken coup." I like it!

I keep listening to it over and over, and hearing something new each time. I love that Tommy is kept in check, Sierra is clearly way up to the task, and that there is so much joy in the overall collab. The ending is perfect, and Tommy's laff is infectious -- did we really just do that???

Pretty athletic challenge! Diane's playing is impressive for beyond just hitting the right notes at the right time, she is able to add artistic expression. Beautiful.

Back from Flameburger with a takeout ham/egg sammich that is so huge I'll have half of it for breffkust tomoro.
Both an Indycar and an F1 race today, the former from my fave track, Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., and the latter in Canuckistan. Timing should work out so I can view both in their entirety, so yay.

Actually, whenever Earl's band played, the Sun-Times would come out and write up a story. In order to share the paper's comments with the part of their fan base without a S-T subscription, Gary and Andy would stand on stage and act out the Review, while Earl sat near them, enthralled.

Astronaut William Anders, 90, famous for his lunar landscape photo of Earthrise in 1968, has died after his vintage Beech Mentor crashed into the waters off Jones Island, Washington.

Stopped off this afternoon for fish and chips at Stout's Pub, and the audio system was playing pop music from the '60s and '70s, including this Jethro Tull classic, whose opening lyrics make a perfect backdrop to pleasant dining: Sitting on a park bench Eying little girls with bad intent Snot is running down his nose Greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes Hey, Aqualung Drying in the cold sun Watching as the frilly panties runI was a die-hard fan of Jethro Tull for many years, and attended most of their concerts here from 1968 through the mid-1980s. Ian Anderson's acoustic guitar playing always mesmerized me; he played small guitars, usually 0-sized, and just crushed it. This is one of many favorites, a bit dark but not as greasy as "Aqualung."
So British!

Yes because I chose the body shop over their cheaper alternative. I’m OK with it, they did a great job. I hope they left in your handcrafted tone-wood fender plugs!
