Katrinacaster will soon have a new home. I am going to ship her and the Blues Jr. to Sidheguitarmichael. He will be using it in his official capacity at Gonzaga.
I am satisfied that she will receive the care and attention she deserves. I'm happy.
Thanks to all for their input.

The wife and I are watching it on YT. It's kinda fun even for a non-golfer. Peyton is always a hoot. All the Mannings are funny from Archie on down. The non-famous brother, Cooper, is maybe the funniest of the brothers.

I'm with Joe on this. I want somebody to bend her strings and show off. I don't want her strumming the chords to "Just As I Am" for the rest of her life. -Sorry guys, just trying to earn you some brownie points. 😘

Many churches have music programs and could use the donation. I donate instruments to several teachers I trust or sell the more expensive instruments at a very reasonable price. How dare you suggest that a fine Blues / Jazz / Country instrument be forced into a life of Spirituals! I appreciate what you are doing, this was my whole modus operandi when I was building guitars and amps on a regular basis, building custom guitars for talented people who might never have the money to get a custom guitar.
A local blues society does this sort of thing through a cutting heads type blues contest for those under 18 and I've been involved in helping with parts to make a custom guitar (generally tele or strat). Can't think of anybody off the top of my head, there hasn't been much chance at getting to be around performers lately. I'm with Joe on this. I want somebody to bend her strings and show off. I don't want her strumming the chords to "Just As I Am" for the rest of her life.

As some of you might know faithful wife and I live in a 5th wheel. Almost three years ago we pared our possessions down from a 4 bedroom two story house to a 37' 5'er. We have thrown or given away quite a collection of "stuff". We still have some things in a storage unit and some things are in my parent's old abandoned house which is slowly succumbing to termites, mildew, & rot.
Inside the closet in my old bedroom is my KatrinaCaster and a Blues Jr. tube amp. Last I looked she was beginning to suffer from the humidity and it won't be long before real damage will accrue. My dreams of being the backup vocalist for Runaway Train are a pipe dream so I have decided to let her go.
I have a tendency to anthropomorphize certain items (like guitars) and going with that she has never gotten a chance to sing. I don't believe her first owner could possibly have let her loose because he threw her on a Katrina debris pile when she was barely wounded. That does not speak well of him and I bet he was a poser who had more money than talent. Her next owner rescued her but didn't, doesn't, and never will have the talent to bend her strings and let her sing. I think it is a shame to never let a fine girl like her ever have anyone hear her voice.
So. I propose to give her away. I will even pay the shipping (within reason meaning preferably somewhere in the CONUS)
I don't know of anyone worthy of her. I would like any and all of you interested to submit names of someone to give her a good home. My initial criteria is: 1. They don't have the wherewithal to purchase an American made Telecaster (or it would be a struggle) 2. They play out (before this Covid crap anyway) in front of an audience.
I'm think Sid or J would know someone- a student maybe but it's not limited to them. If any of you know someone who you think needs or deserves a good Tele, please submit their story and let's compile a list. I want to make this a collaborative effort and I encourage opinions on the candidates even if you didn't submit a name.
Mike, I know you expressed interest but I don't need the money and I think you have the resources to get a good electric so I would rather just give her away to someone.
Please let me know if any of you have a candidate.
Thanks, Alan

A link to the House Intelligence Committee transcripts. The Shawn Henry Crowdstrike interview from December 5 2017 is there. The molehill that will never be a mountain starts in earnest from about page 70*. It is that part some publications are running with at the moment. www.lawfareblog.com/house-intelligence-committee-releases-interviews-russia-investigationPerhaps this is a preamble to revisiting the 'Ukraine did it' nonsense. (pdf files) * Edit - 74? You might want to read some of the preceding pages to get more of the gist of things. Thanks for those. When I get a minute I will peruse thru some of them to see what they says. Right now my phone is blowing up and one of my employees promised a client something by noon and it is now 6:20 and I am having to do it. Geeze...

From the Nobel committee on President Carter's award. “his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.” On Obama's Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama’s initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened. No doubt he is in the minority- quelle surprise. I'm not going to question President Carter. I don't think he was a bad as they say and he did try. When did they hang the medal around Obama's neck? Second week in his presidency? Before either of them had done anything Obama gets the NPP and Trump gets a Special Prosecutor. The documents proving it was all horseshit are being de-classified and published almost daily (if any of you care to keep up). Even "the Russians hacked the DNC" is not a reliable fact (again recently released testimonies taken under oath at the congressional hearings). In case you would like to look it up the President of Crowdstrike testified that there was no evidence they were exfiltrated (stolen) and no hard evidence the Russians had anything to do with it. The "Intelligence" professionals that said they did also said one thing under oath before Congress and the exact opposite on CNN, MSNBC, WaPo, NYT, et al. I wouldn't believe them if they said the sky is blue. Good old Barry. It's hard to be a loser when you have 90% of the press for your sycophant lapdogs. But, all that said, he does give a great speech. Maybe one of the best ever. Kudos to him, yay!

No, he's a winner. For sure he's a winner. Like Belichick and Brady, the former president and his press had an incredible run. Yup, all because he did things "by the book".

The thread title says it all. At least I have coffee. So, are you saying Tuesday's just as bad?
I still miss the late Howard Duane Allman.
My entire department from the job (now reduced from 87 to 72) is scheduled to have a Zoom meeting today. I assume each talking head will be about the size of a pea on my screen. I am grateful to still be employed.
Have a pleasant day anyway, folks.
I don't know where I read this story about the Fillmore East cover photo but it goes like this: The photographer had been trying to get a good pic all day without success. Much later in the day Duane spots his favorite dealer on the street. He dashes over makes a quick exchange and hurries back to his seat cupping his recently acquired fix in his hand. The band breaks out into laughter as Duane kinda smirks. Click, the moment becomes part of Rock and Roll history.

I'm not going to say a lot because I have learned with close family members (and several here) that there are certain topics that I have to avoid discussing in depth in order to maintain a warm personal relationship.
All I want to add is that between now and November, in spite of the pandemic, there will be more documents pried out of the hands of those who are loathe to let them go. And there is a good chance that there will also be hearings and (fingers crossed) indictments.
The chickens are beginning to roost and the fallout from that and how it will influence those swing voters will need to be taken into account.

I bet you, like moi, know church people almost exactly like this. Meaning they totally rip someone or something off and then get up and testify about how the Lord had blessed them.

The article above is a perfect example of why I would like to see depositions and testimony under oath. I don't agree with a damn thing she said. I could go down it point by point but that takes time and wouldn't budge anyone's needle either way so what would be the point?

Stay tuned indeed. Judge Sullivan has opened the door for someone to oppose the Under-New-Management Justice Department's dropping charges on Flynn. I think this could be a good thing for getting some resolution in this case and in the Russia collusion/Spygate/Crossfire Hurricane mess in general. If he dropped the case then it would just be more years of partisan finger pointing and accusations.
Although I believe Flynn was the target of unscrupulous Obama holdovers I am not so partisan as to think that I know the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I hope there is a hearing. I would like to see all the players put under oath and on the stand. Put Flynn on the stand; put Comey, Strzok & Page on the stand; put Flynn's erstwhile lawyers on the stand.
Let's put everyone under oath and let the chips fall where they may. We have recently learned that what these players say under oath is considerably different that what they say on CNN.
Let's see if Sydney Powell is the schizzle or does she just make good click bait soundbites on Fox and right leaning media.
Lllllet's get ready to rumble.....

How much of his success is due to David Lindley? I think Jackson would have been successful, regardless. I saw him open for Laura Nyro at the Fillmore East, on Christmas Day, 1969. Solo. I became an immediate fan.
I don't disagree. I'm just wondering if he would have been AS successful. I don't know if I would have listened to him as much without that soaring, screaming, crying, steel guitar.
