I still have that album, and still play it. My only regret is that my state car doesnt' have a cd player so I can't listen to it on the road at work.

I have seen them once, and that was in Iowa. Instead of walking the dog I just stood there staring up into the sky.

One exception to this phenomenon is Ace Hardware. They are wonderful, at least our local store is wonderful. When I walk in, someone immediately asks if they can help. Sometimes my answer is a polite no, but if I’m in a hurry and ask for something, they know exactly what I’m looking for and where it’s shelved. Two more minutes to check out and I’m on my way home. If I need a certain washer or fastener, they have it. It’s easy to find and I only have to by one 5¢ washer. No need to buy a bubble pack of ten for $3.95. Anytime I want something that I think they might sell, I go there first. You're talking about ODonnel's Ace Hardware on Center Point Road. Since discovering it that summer I haven't set foot in Menard's or Lowes or anywhere like that again. The place is everything you describe and more. And it's a trip back in time. They're repair your lamp or iron for you. I haven't seen that in years.

It apparently snowed in waterloo / cedar falls last night or early this morning. Drove up and I am spending the day at the UNI Dome with the FRC team. Today is practice, tomorrow morning competition starts and runs through Saturday. You can learn more about them at this link: www.iowacityrobotics.org/index.htmlOf course it snowed in Cedar Falls. It's along highway 20. I didn't know it was robotics time in Iowa schools already. Very cool. And very cool that you are involved.

When Dexter was around the nests at our house were balls of husky fur in the trees.
About this Maple Grove mom: Good for her. Our trash is another bird's treasure.

I wanted to play around with Bard but apparently had to put myself on a waiting list. I have a feeling that by the time I'm on the list I will have forgotten what I wanted to ask it in the first place. Which is to write a poem with "Nantucket" in it.

That horse loves you, Steve. When are you going to let him in the house so he can warm up?
It’s in the 40s this morning. We will be in the 50s this afternoon. Spring is slowly on its way.

There isn't one lick of Irish in me and all I care abou right now is that it's windy, cold, and it snowed last night. Schools not on spring break were delayed this morning

I’d think about joining you on Sunday because it’s been way too long. But Joy will be holding forth at the Farmers Mercantile on Sunday with Bob Black and Banjoy. They’re doing an Irish music show in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, so I’ll be there to cheer her on. Their annual Irish show is one I look forward to every year. It's one I won't miss so I'll see you there. Joe, besides airing up tires, getting gas and replacing wiper blades I gave up any guitar-related repair years ago. Nothing is easy anymore. Sorry to hear abouy the pain.

I'm late to the game, Rob but glad to hear you're doing well and wish you a happy birthday. Any chance you might be allowed one of these? No frying involved.

Last night I dreamed about IJam. I know we were at the Merc and I remember that Mark, Joy, Lonnie, and Russell were in the dream. There were crowds of people and there was this person making his way through the crowd, holding a guitar and wearing a Zoro mask. I don’t remember much more of the dream except the guy kept mumbling about maidrites ad squirrels. I wish I could remember more of it. It did seem to be a happy dream, though.

Cool stuff John! I had time in a J3 Cub back in the day. Main memory was being passed by cars on the highway. It was a lot of fun. A friend flew to Canada to scatter a fishing buddy’s ashes over his favorite lake. When they opened the window they all blew back in. The vacuumed the plane out with a shop vac when they got back and never told anyone. That was your job.
